Duty,

You don't receive your participation grade until the end of the quarter.

i have a suggestion: for Pscyhology, i dont do well on the tests and thats because i almost never do well on tests. i get nervous, etc. i dont really know but i also know that i work hard. and i do every single homework assignment. i think it would be good to find a middle spot with homework. some people never do the homework or just get lucky but they do well on the tests while others, like me, do the homework but just suck on the tests. i think it would be nice to find a middle point where homework is a little bigger deal so people like me can benefit more.

Anonymous,

I will take your suggestion under advisement. However, it's really hard to make homework count as much as a test. I could start giving reading quizzes, but I don't think people would do well on them.

If you do the homework, come to class, participate in class discussion, and really THINK about the material, the tests shouldn't be that hard.

I can't wave a magic wand and fix test anxiety. Tests are a reality of school. They are not going away and their level of difficulty won't change.

Have you come in to see me for extra help? Have you come to run your essays by me? If the answer is no to those questions, then you need to work on that.

I want you to be successful, however, you have to work for that success.
