Internal Assessment Update-Extra Credit Week

Okay, Tuesday marks the beginning of the 20 points extra credit for turning in your IA. I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GIVE UNLIMITED FEEDBACK TO EVERY PERSON who wants me to examine their rough draft. However, I will do my best to give feedback to those who ask. Contradictory? Yes.

If you are turning in your IA this week, I will need a hard copy of it and you will need to upload it to turnitn.com. The website is under the links section on the blog.

Good luck and stay dry out there.

Carlisle, I have a question about what we are allowed to use for sources.. Can I use oral history, such as a story told by a family member if it's relavent to my topic? My mom has this story about my grandma during World War II...

I don't know where else to post this. Just came across this kinda cool "world history" Powerpoint...

Someone under 39 can tell me what all the subliminal messages said...I'm too old to catch all of them.

It beats standing out in the rain anyway...

If we put a picture in the IA do we have to cite where we got it? (It's a map of where some battles took place)

Chris,

NO PICTURES! Part B is just a summary of facts as it relates to your central question. Avoiding using pictures.

CAT,

Two places:
1. Above downtown and above PSU. It's really hard to describe. It's just above the 405 overpass. It's in the area where SW Broadway ends. It's near Duniway Park; there's lots 1 hour or 2 hour parking there. On-street parking is FREE on Sunday.

2. Side streets around NW 16th Ave.

Nicole,

I will let you use the oral source, however, it should not be your main source. Citing a few times is permissible. I can allow some flexibility since this IA isn't being sent off to the IB HQ in Great Britain.

It's only a map... It helps to show where the Forts are and how he used the rivers to his advantage... But if massa says no, then it's a no...

Chris,

No maps.

Niz,

No promises. Sorry about that. I know it's a perfect storm for you this week. On a positive note, you are rocking Psychology so maybe you should devote more time preparing for your history exam.

Don't forget you are probably on having one more unit exam in Psych. Probably.

Hey Carlisle-
So I am working on my outlines and was wondering if it would be alright if I compared the southern anachronistic society in the south compared to the industrialized one in the north (in the third question). It will just be part of one of my points; I wanted to check with you first though because you told us not to mention the north...

Carlisle sorry I didn't come in today. Can I talk to you about it tomorrow or something?

Hey Mr. Carlisle, sorry to bother you but is the whole Documentary Evidence of Salvery packet due on Tuesday?
And for the questions that follow the Douglass and Jacobs readings do we need to have quotes for every answer?

4:26 PM

Anonymous Anonymous said...

yeah my question is the same as John Lee's

Katie,

If you mention the North briefly while describing the Southern economy that's fine. I'm worried that some people would spend an entire paragraph comparing the North and the South. That's obviously not the question is asking you to do. Hope this helps.

John and Niz,

I am working on it. I hope to have something by tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day.

Chris,

NO worries. You can talk to me at second lunch if you want. After school I'm booked.

Joel,

Finish the entire packet for tomorrow. For the second set of questions just mention which reading you got your information.
