I'm a native South Carolinian and I attained my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. I taught fourth grade for two years in the Mississippi Delta and two years at an alternative high school in Western North Carolina. I have been at Tigard High School since the fall of 2003, where I teach U.S. History and Psychology.

Yea Max, he is awesome, but for reasons other than living on the edge, he just seems cool, with a cool lifestyle...
Though, the part about Canada Vs Mexico is... Well, I dunno, true? And I suppose it's wrong, but it really doesn't bug me. It's admirable he quit his job cause other people weren't getting equal treatment.
I'll admit that I do have a positive bias towards him, but if that makes me racist, so be it.
I think I'll even it out, and go live in BC...

I find that so interesting how he isn't really seen to others as an alien simply because he is white! America really is a racist country I think because we can look at an illegal immigrant who is hispanic and be angry at them for living here undocumented but then if its a typical looking white person, it's a TOTALLY different feeling about it.
I didn't realize before this article how many undocumented Canadians were living in the US! I don't think people view them the same as hispanics, which is unfortunate.

i agree that mexicans/latinos arent treated as fairly but i think that is has to do with the fact that you can look at a latino person and tell that they are latino whereas if you look at a canadian, they just look the same as a white american.
i've never heard of illigal canadian immigrants before
i bet everyone wishes that they didn't have to pay taxes like that guy
it would be nice to be able to choose to live in whatever country you wanted to without having much trouble
and to get out of paying tickets/fines? awsome

I think its cool how he loves Portland and is willing to defend it. He is not causing trouble at all.

This guy, pardon my language, pisses me off! His life in Canada seemed fine but he gets to live here and not pay taxes and all that jazz. I know he's not causing any trouble, and I appreciate that, but it's so unfair! I'm sure there are a lot of Canadians who go through the citizenship process but this guy just acts like he's better than the law and if he gets kicked out then he can just go back to Canada and continue on normally.

hmm interesting, idk what to think, its something to think about, like the racism comment. i never really thought about how we have a lot of illegal eh-liens from canada and not just only hispanic. i think we are really racist in focusing mainly on hispanics and not canadians. sorry im kinda repeating myself, im tired, buenos noches ;)

That's so tight, I'm kinda jealous of this guy. It sounds like he lives a simple life and just does what he wants. That's so cool!
I never really thought about how many canadians could be comming over illegally.

it's pretty crazy how so many latinos are deoprted and the immigrants from canada aren't bothered. since when are illegal immigrants from canada any different from illegal immigrants from mexico?
