I think part of the problem is that "suffrage" sounds a lot like "suffer." I bet most of those girls thought they were signing to end women's suffering.
Still, it's pretty sad that they don't know that word.
I'm guessing that they edited out most of the girls who said yes, but even if they did there were still like 20 that proved themselves to be incredibly dumb.
I like the beginning part as well, that really makes it even worse that they were in college and they still didn't understand.
so was the point of that video to convince men that woman shouldent get the right to vote because they dont know what sufferage is? not the best school in the world btw
Obviously none of those girls were in IB history. I also dont mean to sound rude or sexist in this next comment but if they really know what suffrage is should they get the right to it? (this thought is applyed to anyone who does not know, not just women) Maybe the idea of a voting/literacy test isnt such a bad thing after all - as long a it's fair.
How can you make a literacy test for "the most valued right in the US" fair? Just because you get a crappy education you are no longer aloud a say in how things are run? You can have an opinion without knowing the definition of the word "suffrage". Literacy test would just take the already-permanent underclass of America and make them feel even more unprivileged. Sorry...just had a lil' tirade.
I think this shows the extreme need for better (and more applicable to real life) education, not neccessarily literacy tests. I see where you are coming from though.
Carlisle I like the "Mistress of the Obvious" comment.
WOW. I like how the one girls was like "but there, isnt a threat...anymore." and the girls at the end were cheering. I wonder if we do the same thing at our school, would we get people to sign??
I think this video proves that women shouldn't have the right to vote because if they don't know what suffrage is then they don't deserve to vote...I'm totally kidding by the way.

wow I can't believe only one female said no. Ha it's funny because it really proves the point the men are trying to make. This was pathetic.

I think this video is really funny. My favorite part is the girl who says no and her friend seems offended and says yes

Thanks Mistress of the Obvious.

That's funny and sad that all those girls don't know what suffrage means. One of them didn't even know how to spell it.
7:28 PM
Hahahahaha. Only in the US.

Tiffany Quach just made my night.
Anyways...
This is fantastic. I don't think the girl in the bus even knew what she was signing for--she just kind of took the clipboard and signed it. Umm, lame.

Bitney,
I do it all for you.

Alright, I'm not going to lie this was pretty funny. However, I'm sure if you asked boys what it was they wouldn't know either.

This is probably one of my new favorite videos. It was so funny!

what was it plastered on the sign of their school? i cant remember, best education or something?
worst college students ever.

I agree with Alex C. that suffrage does sound a lot like suffer. Making most or ALL of the girls think of the definition of suffer and not suffrage.
Oh, and haha "Thanks Mistress of the Obvious." That made my day.

He totally shoulda submitted that, i mean, if the women of the US want it, why not let em have it?
7:08 PM
Best video ever. The guy with the petition is my new hero.

And since I think no one else said it, I laugh that an earlier commenter ranted about how dumb literacy tests are and misspelled "allowed". hehehe
