All the talk about bears and Yellowstone and giant monuments of hardcore natives made me even more excited to go on my "Manly America Trip" as soon as I'm done with college. ...and when I get enough $.
You know, this monument might just be the perfect apology. It is not saying a lame "We are sorry", it just acknowledges the dark past of that time and that is what is most important. To show respect to the natives is better than saying sorry for disrespecting them.
I'm a native South Carolinian and I attained my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. I taught fourth grade for two years in the Mississippi Delta and two years at an alternative high school in Western North Carolina. I have been at Tigard High School since the fall of 2003, where I teach U.S. History and Psychology.

Sure, however, it will be made out of mashed potatoes.
