Here's what free speech looks like in a democracy:

From the Right:

From the Left (check out the reaction of President Bush, it's painful at times)

Wow Hank made quite a jump comparing Obama to Hitler. I don't really get the comparison either. Apparently I'm lucky for not understanding? I'm not really sure he has an argument for that.

In my reaction to Hank William Jr. --> Wow, so McCain and Biden were friends for YEARS yet ran against each other in '08, where were you then? Also, what's wrong with not hating your enemey? Maybe that'd be best in American politics in a country so torn and he even admits that this country is polarized and Boehner and Obama playing golf is nowhere near the same as Hitler playing golf with PM Netanyahu!- and for Colbert's speech, it would have been best if Sarah Palin's best line ever was around at this time, 'Polls? Nah, those are for strippers and cross-country skiers' =)

Hank seems to be a very opinionated person and I don't know what he bases his statements off of, and I don't think the reporters really did either. He didn't answer all of their questions or explain himself and the reporters definitely seemed uncomfortable; however, it would be interesting to hear his other viewpoints on things because I'm sure they would be just as strongly worded.

"They have a right to their culture and I can see where the First Amendment would be very painful for them. The First Amendment is a tragic amendment because everyone is going to have his or her feelings hurt and your government is not here to protect you from having your feelings hurt. "

"Alright, let's talk about Monday night football" The way the reporter tries (and fails) to abruptly end the interview amuses me. I agree with Haylee and Rachel, the discomfort was palpable.

It's been awhile since I've watched Colbert's speech. What I find impressive about the speech is his proximity to the President. Colbert even addressed the man directly without faltering.

I bet he influenced a lot of people with thait interview.
Did you notice how much effort the interviewers used to get Hank going? It was hilarious, and their facial expressions were, too!

Hank William Jr. is a sad example of the right at its worst. Colbert was pretty funny though!

Oh jeese, Colbert should really learn when to hold his tounge. At first I was sure that would relate gut decisions to declaring war on Iraq. I was definately cringing with President Bush for a while there.

I'm pretty sure anything on Fox News is a scripted comedy act.
And anyways, Hank Williams Jr. is crazy. He wears sunglasses indoors.

Stephen Colbert is brilliant though. That's one of my favorite videos of all time.

Personal i thought Colbert trying to be smart about exports back fired. Happy meals lately have been lacking the usual awesome toys making them rather sad. I don't know if there even toys but just colored pieces of plastic, its obvious Colbert is lacking in so common knowledge. But redeems himself with democracy out of plastic. Notice some of the audience faces are frozen looking like there analyzing the speech, the proto types have already began.

Hank William Jr. should not have the right to freedom of speech.
What's the purpose of "picking his brain" on Fox anyways?

Obama and Hitler have nothing in common! I agree with Sara and Vanessa that Hank William Jr. is crazy and should not have freedom of speech. Half of what he said didn't really make sense.

Not only does Hank Williams have a strong opinion about politics, he also has the best country accent to make it ten times better.

Simply put, Stephen Colbert is Brilliant. Hank Williams Jr., not so much. I wish the good folks at Fox News would've let him elaborate a little more on his Hitler to Obama comparison so he could've received the gigantic amount of rational and justified hate mail he deserves.
