The Supreme Court is considering a big case

Being that we have already seen a conservative-majority SC rule Obamacare constitutional, there is a decent chance that if the SC takes the case that they will rule in favor of gay marriage, especially being that this is a social issue and justices don't seem to me to have extreme passions one way or the other. There will be uproar if so, and possibly a civil war. But I don't think there's much point in using the Constitution against gay marriage. If this case if rejected, it leaves gay marriage up to the voters, which is probably the safer way to go. Being that Obama will probably get to fill a vacancy with a liberal judge, it leaves the possibility of future gay marriage cases going to the SC and winning.

I honestly don't see why this is even a case. People have the right to do marry whoever they want to marry. They aren't hurting anyone by doing so. I really hope they go through and pass gay marriage already.

Gay marriage is not important enough to go to the Supreme Court. It should be up to the voters, as it will not hurt the country like some people think, and should be passed sometime soon. If the Supreme Court is to take on this case, they should rule in favor of legalizing gay marriage. I don't understand why gay marriage is such a big deal, marriage is marriage. Gay marriage is not destroying the meaning of marriage, celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Britney Spears are, where the marriage is either out of stupidity or getting attention from the press. The Supreme Court should ignore it, and focus on more important things.

It frustrates me that same sex marriage is even potentially going to the Supreme Court. I really don't understand why it has to be such a big deal. If two consenting adults want to marry one another, why should it matter if they are of the same sex? Just because gay or lesbian couples want to get married doesn't mean that the definition of marriage is necessarily redefined. Ugh. I mean, if people can get married in effort to gain attention or to get money or merely being in love with the idea of someone or even because they feel lonely, why should same sex marriage be such a big deal? Marriage is marriage. If a couple wants to get married, why stop them? I just hope marriage equality becomes a national thing.

It makes me really sad that my friend's moms have to go to different states just to be legally married. They have lived successful lives and have great kids. Their gayness isn't hurting anyone, so why should society hurt them?
