That's where we go to younglife camp!
We hiked up this huge hill there last year and we could see all the little huts they lived in, the hotel we stay in was where their visiters came and stayed, and the sports center is where they worshipped. Pretty crazy.

His story is very similar to Jim Jones. But after Bhagwan got paranoid, it looked like he was going to attack the state with biological warfare! It's weird to think about these regular guys turning into crazy, persuading leaders. How a group can form, grow, and then turn into a ticking bomb.

He does look like his name would be Rajneesh.. so happy looking ;)
"He sent his assistant Ma Anand Sheela to the United States to look for property that was remote, warm, and large enough to support several thousand people."
...WARM?! ...Oregon... right, Rajneesh, good choice.
Nice plan with the whole "fake the cancer" scenario. Bet no one had done that one before.. but if his name was Rajneesh, I would have believed him..
AAnd a Hotel! How grand of him. "Hotel Rajneesh" just has a nice ring to it.
"Every day, he drove one of the cars into Madras to buy an ice cream soda." Hahaha, still a kid at heart, great leadership attributes.
"city council began to worry that Rajneeshpuram would become a serious drain on the city’s resources" I'm beginning to feel that was the least of their worries.
In every crazy person we have studied, a common characteristic always shows itself.. they all get paranoid and somehow get weapons for defense.. It confuses me how most of them were so pro-peace.
..poor Sheela, haha, he blames everything on her, haha.
What great bedtime reading, thanks! :)
