Carlisle can you explain "freedom rides"? I don't really understand them and the text didn't do a good job explaining them.

Great to see you on the blog. You haven't been here in a while.
Freedom Riders consisted of African Americans and whites who decided to ride a bus from Washington, D.C. down to the South in order to see if Southern states would enforce a Supreme Court decision which stated that interstate bus terminals must be integrated.
Once they got Alabama they were met with severe violence in Anniston and Birmingham. I am going to show you guys some great footage of the Freedom Riders journey tomorrow. I will also show you guys stuff on Dr. King's crusade in Birmingham.

I come on here every day, but it's to check what the reading is, then i get distracted by the other stuff, then realize that I need to be working so I don't comment lol. Thanks for the help though, that explanation was way better than the text.
