I enjoyed that Brady Bunch style video.... I can relate a lot to Bandura's theory since i have a brother who is 6 years younger. When he was really little he would copy everything anyone else did.
hahaha that's actually pretty funny! that could be on tbs.weird kids. i liked the little girl just destroy that doll!!!! its like how the monkey ate that ladies face.
is there a part of the brain that specifically allows this type of learning? It is obvious that humans are capable of it, but i have a horse and she doesnt learn how to do anything by watching another horse perform... unfortunately
Interesting to see the experiment done rather than just reading about it. The part at the beginning scared me though; I wouldn't want to drink 7up if it were actually a mind altering drug that created hallucinations of pac-man drinking 7up.
This was an interesting video. It made me think about why and how some children learn certain things at such a young age. My grandpas daughters little girl trained herself to use the bathroom at a very young age. Im not sure how old exactly but it was way before it normally happens. Her parents were not even trying to get her to use the bathroom yet at all. She did all by herself which is very interesting i think.
As cheesy as it was, it did help me understand the concept better. And it reminds me of my friend's little brother who is three and basically copies everything he sees.
I've thought about social learning before, without even knowing that it was social learning. That kind of happens to me alot, some random thought pops up in my head and then I end up learning/hearing about it later.. Cool video (:
LATE- but I finally watched the video- and it helped- I wish I had watched before- anyways- FYI... when Carl- the host to the video introduces Bandura- he says that Bandura is at professor at Harvard- but in the interview with him- it said: Psychology professor of Stanford University-- ;;;;; michi
I'm a native South Carolinian and I attained my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. I taught fourth grade for two years in the Mississippi Delta and two years at an alternative high school in Western North Carolina. I have been at Tigard High School since the fall of 2003, where I teach U.S. History and Psychology.
