so interesting. The brain is extremely complex. Unfortunately designs on artificial brains haven't really been efficient enough to compete with computer programing. But I think the future will reveal the efficiency of networks in understanding data, rather than altering it.
It is interesting to see the capability one has in his/her brain. To be able to rewire itself and get the most essential and most important functions. The case of this women is really amazing on how the right hemisphere took over some essential cognitive functions of the left hemisphere. It makes us see how our brain functions in each hemisphere and how the importance of having both hemispheres of the brain should not be taken for granted but rather acknowledged and used for the most benefitial areas of our lifes. Specially in our teen years.
Wow that is really interesting how the right took over some of the basic functions of the left but makes sense that some normal right functions were the cost of that. I randomly remembered about the blog from the good ol days so I thought I would stop by.
I can't believe it took so long for doctors to diagnose her with a damaged right hemisphere. You would think one of the first tests they would do would be a brain scan. ahh! -Jen Knight
I'm a native South Carolinian and I attained my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. I taught fourth grade for two years in the Mississippi Delta and two years at an alternative high school in Western North Carolina. I have been at Tigard High School since the fall of 2003, where I teach U.S. History and Psychology.

Ya that was a neat video. The human body and mind are truly remarkable. There are still many things to be discovered about the body and mind.

Wow...I guess this just goes to show that there is still a lot that we need to learn about our own bodys' capabilities.
