Lawmaker Seeks To Ban U.S. Currency

Mike Pitts, a representative in the South Carolina legislature, has proposed a law that would replace dollars with gold and silver in his state. What do you think?

Young Woman

Dana Asquith,
Systems Analyst
"My only hope is that they offer a favorable exchange rate with Confederate bills."

Young Man

Mark Bonnie,
Barber
"I'm fine with it just as long as those fools at CVS melt me down the correct amount of change for once."

Black Man

Samuel Briottet,
Apothecary
"Sing ho, for the glories of bimetallism! With South Caroline on the side of Free Silver, there's no stopping us from repealing the Coinage Act and putting William Jennings Bryan in the White House in 1896! Huzzah!"

i think that that is a terrible idea. it will be just like going back to the times of bimetallism and the gold and silver coinage. It would not solve anything if they are looking for a solution to the currency problems happening right now.

Hey Carlisle, unfortunately I can't find the two posters I was talking about--I thought they were at the bottom of my close but they are not! I think my brother Ross might have taken them with him.
I did find a poster you might want: the classic Uncle Sam "I want YOU for U.S. Army". Are you interested in that poster?

As far as this crazy guy goes, i do believe his bill is unconstitutional. Of course, this guy realizes that, and is simply trying to get some national face-time.

Rimma,

The first part about the representative from SC is true. The comments from the people are fake. It's from The Onion. Thanks for that article. Good stuff.

Gavin,

You have failed me. My disappointment knows no bounds. I guess I will settle for the Uncle Same poster.

I don't think that this would be a good idea at all. We already have the system for dollar bills, why should we go back to carrying around coins? Not like it would be a good idea anyways because I am sure that people would love to steal them from others.
