these places were so terrible... A person cannot possible live in these conditions. The picture of the $1 a month sheds were so sad. You can't fit a whole family in those tiny storage sheds and live comfortably. I think that we are really really lucky to be able to live in an era with decent housing and sanitary conditions. We don't have to live everyday in loud,cramped places with polluted air and worry about not having enough neccessities such as water, food, and shelter.

All those people looked miserable, I felt so sorry for them having to live in those horrible conditions. It showed those cots that were like 7 cents to sleep on then the $1 dollar huts, they were terrible. I do not know how people managed to live in those places, but I guess you take what you can get... Which in these peoples cases was not a lot and that is just sad.

I dont understand how things like this happen. These pictures are horrible and disgusting. All these buildings look so run down and in horrible conditions. Its amazing how horrible things were back then and how these people lived!
