Hey Carlisle, really enjoyed the discussion today in class about puritans and what they would do to the Native Americans in the name of God because they thought that it was the right thing. It is somewhat related in my mind to the crucades that took place back hundreds of years ago when the christians went out and killed non-believers for their religion. I also thought it was interesting how much religion was so tied into our government when European settlers first came to colonize here and how now only a few hundred years later, religion is prohibbited so much to be a part of our government and not supposed to be taught in our public school systems.
I'm a native South Carolinian and I attained my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. I taught fourth grade for two years in the Mississippi Delta and two years at an alternative high school in Western North Carolina. I have been at Tigard High School since the fall of 2003, where I teach U.S. History and Psychology.
