Gah I loved this commercial and that article. The article is extremely correct. The bailouts saved thousands upon thousands of jobs and we still have a long ways to go. Clint Eastwood also probably wouldn't have done this commercial if he felt it was a re-election at all. Yea the government spent billions on the bailout but how many jobs did that save.
I don't feel like it is a re-election ad for Obama because the add takes pieces of both parties platforms. It isn't one sided but people from each party feel offended because the opposing party was included.
"Yeah.. It's half time in America" I liked this commercial and i think that was my favorite part, plus his voice sets the mood, and makes me think of Gran Torino which is kind of the opposite type thing because it makes me think of an angry older man saying "hhhg" with a sigh.
"That thing slapping you in the face is called the truth" Quote of the year so far. Great commercial, though. I do love me some Clint Eastwood. Makes me want to go buy a Chrysler. And elect Clint Eastwood President. Looks like Ron Paul could have his running mate! Paul, Eastwood 2012!
I thought that this ad was very interesting. I didn't even know it was for a car until the end. I did like what the commercial was saying though. And Clint Eastwood's narration was awesome. But I don't think this was a ad for Obama's re-election.
Could just be a publicity stunt. If you're going to be paying millions of dollars for two minutes the whole point is to make it something memorable and that people with be talking about for a long time. Throw in something that could be seen as slightly controversial/political and there ya go.
It's possible that the commercial is subtly implying that the Republican actions were successful, but I think that political leaders are reading too much into an ad that is mainly implying that Chrysler was successful at recovering and is still in the game, no pun intended. I like what the ad, says though. America still has a ways to go before its taken out, if it ever is taken out.

There if no outstanding evidence for this being a re-election ad and the guy who claimed this was from fox so...Good commercial though.

Eh, it could be a subliminal message for Obama's reelection campaign, but meh- he'll win in November with the way the GOP is going
