Hitler was paranoid. Did the 15 women eat his food because he assumed women would die faster from the poison? That would be a hard lifestyle; every meal, not knowing if she would live to eat another.

I could just see the fear on Margot Woelk's face each time a plate of food came before her eyes because she would never know which one would be her last .. I also still don't understand why Hitler only chose women to taste his food for him instead of men .. Nevertheless, both genders would be living in constant fear.

The Russians were in many cases, just as cruel as the Germans. If you were caught by them, you were either shot on the spot or raped for days. An ironic consequence of their cruelty is that by making freed concentration camp prisoners find their own food, they supposedly kept more of them alive than the Americans.

Wow, that is an amazing story. I never would've guessed that Hitler had women have food tasters. Margot was a very fortunate women to have run away successfully from the lair. So since it says that the other 14 women died I guess that means no one ever tried poisoning his food...

I wonder what it would be like, knowing that your job was assure the health and safety of one of the most notorious criminals the world has ever seen. Only her death would have brought success the 'food-taster's' program, and now she is emotionally and physically scarred by the actions of the people who fought to suppress the reason for which her life was risked.
On the bright side, at least she got free food.

I could never see Hitler as a vegetarian. He always looked chunky to me. He was very paranoid if he had 15 ladies taste his food

Wow. That is an amazing story. Very sad that she had to be a part of such a terrible thing. I wouldn't expect Hitler, who portrayed himself as very strong and powerful, to have15 women taste his food just because he was paranoid about being poisoned.

That's an incredible story. It's crazy to think that Hitler required not just a few, but 15 women taste his food. And the fact that he never ate meat is surprising. It's unbelievable to imagine what Margot had to go through everyday and even after she had returned to Berlin and yet she survived. Wow.
