June 11-12

Put a pin in the 2012-13 school year, it's over.

FINALS
FINALS
FINALS

I sincerely hope you got something out my class. You may not remember everything you learned this past year, however, you have learned a lot. Seriously, a lot. You read and learned things that I didn't get until college or in some cases, graduate school. I tried to teach you to care about the institutions that are set up to serve citizens and what happens when those institutions fail. I wanted to make you empathetic about the plight of people who experienced injustice. I firmly believe in the maxim of afflicting the comfortable and comforting the afflicted.

Finally, pay attention to the world around you. Please.

Take care and have a great summer.

Thank you, Mr. Carlisle. I have genuinely enjoyed being in your class. I must say, I feel somewhat indebted to you. I don't know that I'd be regularly reading articles on the New York Times, Reuters, the Atlantic (among others)websites on a regular basis if it wasn't for your enthusiasm about current events and the like...Anyway, see you next year! It'll be fun to work with you on my EE.

I am honestly so glad I took this class. I woke up every morning excited to go to first period because you gave so much enthusiasm and you really enjoyed and cared about the topics in taught class. I just wish I had way more enthusiasm.. maybe class would've been even better.. Oh well.. You are seriously one of THE best teachers at the school and you are one of my favorites! <3 I'm going to miss having class with you, Mr. Carlisle!!! I really hope I have you as a teacher again because I signed up for Psychology next year!! :D Best wishes!!!

Thank you Mr. Carlisle for a very fun and informative year! Being a part time student and all made it hard to catch up on all the information that was given the days I missed. But out of all the classes I missed, History was the one I actually looked forward to be going back to. I enjoyed how much enthusiasm you put into each unit and each day, , because without your energy I feel like History could have been boring but you kept it interesting. Thank you for a great year.

Thank you Mr. Carlisle, you made my mornings bearable and I always leave your class feeling pretty good. Well, maybe not after some of those videos... Nevertheless, it has been a pleasure to learn from you.

Mr. Carlisle, in all honesty I wish you would teach all my classes. This has 100% been my favorite class of all of high school. I've always loved history but your teaching put it in a context that made me think about the world and made me want to get involved and influence what is going on around me. I will REALLY miss this class :(

Mr. Carlisle, I never thought an every day all year History class would go so quickly and easily. You bring so much energy to the classroom every morning and I thank you for that. I only wish I could bring the same amount of enthusiasm everywhere I go.

Thank you Mr Carlisle for being such a great teacher! I had a lot of fun this year having you as a teacher, and I have also learned so much. I didn't really know how to write essays before this class and now I do! I also enjoyed the few days that Audrey, Maggie and I had lunch with you.:D Thank you for a great class! :)

Thank you Carlisle. History was always my least favorite class until I had you as a teacher. I remember in the beginning of the year during the IA you told me I had to have a passion for history to have signed up for this class and I lied and said yes. But everything is different now because I loved your class and learned that history wasn't horrible and so many other skills for life. Thanks so much - I hope I get your class next year!
