Since Kylie clearly wasn't going to do it, I looked up and did my research on the the Wizard of Oz metaphor you presented in class. I couldn't find any conclusive evidence of the story that Baum came up with the name by looking at the organization label on a filing cabinet. And while I read Littlefield's thesis (http://www.amphigory.com/oz.htm) I can't say I agree with it. It just seems a little too outlandish, almost as though Henry Littlefield was overanalyzing it. While it seems as though the idea of the Wizard of Oz being a metaphor for currency isn't very highly regarded on the internet, I couldn't find any reliable sources explaining that belief and debunking the previous one. So, it looks like you were right.
