Final thoughts

Final grades have been sent to counseling and to edline. I hope you have an excellent summer and come back refreshed for your senior year.

One final exam note--Freedom Summer had nothing to do with the hippies and the Summer of Love in 1967. That cost several of you ten points on your final exam.

Anyhoo, that's it from my end. Feel free to post comments here throughout the summer.

Have fun!

Hey Carlisle!
I don't know if you receive the daily Oregonian or not but Kip Kinkel made the first page today [Monday]. He's like going on another trial or something. The article just made me remember psychology. =D
Anyway, have a nice summer!

Vickie!

Thanks for the comment. I saw a story about Kip Kinkel on the news tonight. He looks really bad compared to his 15 year old self. I guess prison will do that to you.

Have a great summer!

I just want you to know that I really enjoyed having you in class. I would put you right up there in the top ten students I have had in US History in my 4 year career at THS.

Please let me know if I can write you a letter of rec next year.

Take care.

So, I took the placement test for PCC the other day and found out that I don't have to take any reading classes(got a 99 out of 99), was placed in the highest writing class at PCC(got an 85 out of 99) and I can take any math class I want:) I'm pretty excited about that seeing as I haven't had any school for almost two months. But yeah, I get to start registering for classes now...It's wierd thinking that I'll be in college and not at the high school anymore...kind of sad but exciting.

Anyway, how are you doing?

Lindsey,

Not surprised about your test results for PCC. Have any idea about what you want to study?

Your college years go by fast, so enjoy them. I am gearing for IB History. Should be a challenge.

You should e-mail me at my school e-mail address:

You stay really active in the summer. That's a good thing.

Yes, I am teaching IB US History next year. If you know anyone taking it with me, tell them to get ready to read and write quite a lot.

Well I have two sections(2nd and 3rd) and Mr. Unis has three sections. You may end up in his class. This class if for college credit and I will treat it as such. Expect lots of primary source document analysis and writing. Lots of writing.

Ok, I want your opinion on something...do you think I should start a two-part Intro to Psychology class or to just take a Social Psychology class? Or to take the two-parts of the Intro class and then go to Social Psych? You can e-mail me if you'd like...I sent your school e-mail a message awhile ago, or you can just answer here. Please help:)

Blogger Mr. Carlisle said...

Lindsey,

I would definitely take the full Social Psych class. I think you would get a rehash of things you already learned in your intro to Psych class. That's my $.02.
