Very interesting......(there is your two word response) It is funny that John Smith made up the story and disney made up another story. Does that mean that in the future this story is going to be even more diffrent? These are the questions that plauge me.

But really it's funny how John Smith made up that story, (he must have really wanted the girls). I didn't like the movie Pocahontas, but the raccoon was awesome.

So my results said:

Your data suggest a moderate automatic preference for European American compared to African American.

I'm not gonna lie this is a little upseting becuase honestly I don't prefer one race over another. I have African American friends and white friends and I love them both the same. Personally I just think I have issues with my hand eye coordination becuase I was missing so many. But maybe I'm just in denial.... Anyway it was actually really interesting but I hope the results aren't completely accurate.

Your data suggest a strong automatic preference for European American compared to African American.

I dont agree because i have african american friends and i dont see them differently then my white friends and it not as fair as it looks. there are distractions in the house or maybe thinking of something else to get one wrong and that may really hurt your score to get 1 wrong.

My IAT test results said that I have a moderate automatic preference for European Americans compared to African Americans. But in my own opinion i disagree with my results, i think i'm equal.I don't have a preference for one race over another.

Your data suggest a strong automatic preference for Unicultural compared to Multicultural.

This is interesting that I unconsciously associate better with groups that are white than with multicultural groups. This is not something that I am proud of, but I feel I've been raised in a society where that is what is mostly going on. I don't think this exercise is saying I am racist, its just proving that I live in a society where I expect the typical family in America to look like they do on Everyone Loves Raymond.

All of the sources seem to follow the same myth except for the first record by John Rolfe himself that never siad anything about pocahontas saving his life. This would be why Disney would follow most of the sorces that the kids have ever herd before just like the story of Christipher, elementary schools never tell about the genicide.

Your data suggest a strong
automatic preference for Multicultural compared to Unicultural. I am not quite sure how I feel about these results. Most of my friends are white but I am not sure if that is because I go to a mostly white school or because I have grown up around mostly white people or whether I just like them better. I can however say that I am much more comfortable around white people but i have mixed and black friends as well.

Your data suggest little to no automatic preference between African American and European American. I think this was a really good test. I know conciously i try to be as unbiased as possible but it was interesting to see my unconcious results. Although I think it may have been affected by my slow reaction time unfourtunately. Still really interesting though.

I kinda agree with it.
I try to as non bias as possible but there are still times where i can be. Like when im downtown portland and a black guy walks by, i get kinda nervous. I think the test is pretty interesting.

I agree with my results.
I grew up in a very diverse community and I think that helped me to not establish a bias between races.

Its pretty cool how you can find out so much about your conscious just by taking a test on a computer.

I agree with that. I took other tests though and my results were sort of all over the place. I think I got too caught up in going fast and it messed up my answers.

My results were: The same as Alexa's.

And I agree, it is a bit upsetting because I grew up living on Army bases and because of that, grew up with kids that were black, white, asian, hispanic, and a little bit of everything.

It is a little weird to me- even after 3 years of living here- that there are so many white kids compared to black kids here.. it's actually even a little scary.

But it was a little upsetting and hopefully it was more with my bad hand-eye coordination.

My results for the IAT test said that I have a slight preference to unicultural vs. multicultural.

I don't think this is true because I really don't judge a person by their race. When the words switched side it got me all messed up.

Your Result
Your data suggest a moderate automatic preference for African American compared to European American.

I agree with this. I have a few black friends and i listen to more R n B and Rap than any other genre of music.

Oh man I forgot to copy and paste my result but it went along the lines.

You have little or no automatic separation of unicultural and multicultural.

As I briefly stated in class it depends on the environment in which you exist. I was raised with 3 (for the sake of a class) African America siblings and I am bound to have no bias for racial difference.

"your data suggest a slight automatic preference for european American compared to African American"

I cannot really agree with this result because even one of my best friends is an African American and I always try to have no prejudices at all because I know that they usually do not fit at all.
I sometimes couldn't really see if the picture was of someone black or white on the first sight so it often took me a while to figure it out.
