I have a question about the reading. I really didn't see how the Kansas-Nebraska act broke up the Whig party. And why the house house actually voted to aprove it.

Haley,

Talk to your grandma.

Chris,

Bummer.

Thomas,

Will put the link up by tomorrow

Shole,

The issue essentially destroyed the Whig party. They were divided internally over slavery and the Compromise of 1850. Southern Whigs were who staunchly pro-slavery migrated towards the Democratic Party, which shared their beliefs on slavery.

The Kan-Neb. Act was approved b/c Stephen Douglas proposed the construction of a trans-contintental RR from Chicago, IL to the West Coast. Southern members of Congress supported this more northern route in exchange for popular sovereignty in those territories.

Bastogne is the episode that has the most medic type stuff, it's mostly centered around Eugene Roe, Easy Company's medic.

I always found that clip interesting, just goes to show, the man your fighting can be no different than yourself. All these guy, with no personal conflicts with the other side. All just men, fighting for what they believe in... Under different circumstances they could have been good friends... Quite a pity, the whole thing...

Oh, and about Lt. Spears killing those prisoners... I dunno if that really happened, do you?
