- Location: Portland, Oregon, United States
I'm a native South Carolinian and I attained my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. I taught fourth grade for two years in the Mississippi Delta and two years at an alternative high school in Western North Carolina. I have been at Tigard High School since the fall of 2003, where I teach U.S. History and Psychology.

Man, I would hate to see one of those in the wild. It would probably give me spider nightmares for the rest of my life. What if it was in your shoe?!?! Scary...

Haha! It's not even a spider! What a spook. I think it's cute how they chase your shadow around. I can just imagine it from their point of view: "No! Come baaaaack!" *chase chase run run* Nonetheless very disgusting looking.

I nearly stepped on this walking out of my den really late one night last summer. stuck a heavy cup over it and deemed it photoworthy the next morning. It didn't live much longer after that.

Spiders are all stereotyped as these nasty big hairy things that will attack people but they're really misunderstood creatures. I feel for them.
It's a little disturbing knowing it can run at 10 mph though...
