Constitutional Question

Based on your knowledge of the Constitution, is Governor Palin correct?

No. The only job is to break ties in the Senate. She is giving much more importance to her role as VP than is actually given to her. Her language is trying too hard to sound "cute". I find it somewhat obnoxious.

Silly Sarah! Not only did she have some "interesting" statements the role of VP, but she said, "I appreciate you" at the end of the interview. Have no fear Brandon, Sarah Palin and her maverickness will get in there and make policy changes for you!

it is a shame that our republican vice-presidential candidate doesn't know the role of the office she wants to be elected to, but it does make me feel much better about my own performance on the quiz yesterday.

What an idiot. A vice presidential candidate should at least know what her job title is and she doesn't even know that. Her vice presidency was what sealed the deal for me voting for Obama. Also I just read that she used state money to pay for her kids coming with her to political events when they didn't need to be. Some fiscal conservative she is.

Man, she doesn't even know that she would only break ties in the Senate.

She would fail that Constitution Quiz.

Yeah that is sad that she doesn't know her role for VP when that is what she is running for. And she was trying to give herself more roles and jobs then she really has. She is crazy!

Sarah Palin made a tragic blunder in this interview. By showing that she doesn't know what she would do in the Senate, it reflects poorly on her.

However, in today's world of politics everyone has found the vagueness of the Constitution very helpful. I don't recall ever seeing the clause which says, "Vice President may not influence a Senator."

Alex,

The Constitution is not vague about the role of the VP. The VP becomes president if the sitting president cannot serve and the VP is President of the Senate. That's it. The VP can't mix it up on the Senate floor as a lawmaker.

wow mitchell its surprising how much more up front you are with people when your behind a computer screen. haha. well it sounds like Palin is trying to sugar-coat politics which isnt really possible. but you have to cut her some slack because she is responding to an elementary kids question. Nonetheless, that should not deter from her inaccuracy of her role as VP, which indeed is quite concerning because she could potentially head the executive branch in washington. scary.
