Hi I was wondering if there are any other videos I missed that I should be aware of for possible IDs?
Thanks sorry I have missed so much.

I showed clips from a video called Atomic Cafe that had stuff in it that would be applicable for essay #3. Adam can fill you in. Hope to see you soon. You will most likely not be taking the test on Monday unless you feel ready for it.

That video was eeh. I'm not surprised by what happened, and therefore I'm not actually even disturbed by it. Emmet Till was just a stupid Northern kid, not defending what the Southerners did by any means, but his mom warned him.

Although I do have to say that I am somewhat disheartened by what the murderers did after the trial. Although, once again not shocked. I mean, really, it is so predictable that white trash would try to make a buck or two off of an internationally known case.

Erik no offense but you should value human life more. Not being disturbed by that graphic killing is ridiculous.

Narintohn beat me to it. I spent a while considering what to type as my response.

I just didn't include the 50 F bombs I dropped after reading it.

I'm sorry, I can't believe that.

Dude, I can't believe you actually said that erik. it doesnt even matter if his mom told him or not, he did not deserve it. would you rather it seriously be you so that you can see how horrible something like that would happen. i freaking even cried after seeing him all beat up like that. NO ONE should deserve it, and its even worse that the men who did it, didn't even suffer for it.

Think. Is it really that shocking that in a strange place like pre-civil rights movement mississipi a black kid was killed for "offending white womanhood"?

I mean, it isn't shocking so it doesn't disturb me. If it was a complete and total shock, then ya I would be disturbed.

It's not totally shocking that whites killed an African American boy for "white womanhood". But regardless of whether you expected it or not, one would think you would be disturbed by the graphic nature of the killing on a young boy.

Erik,

I think everyone has already stated the obvious in regards to the murder of Emmett Till. However, I sort of understand what you're saying about the predictability of his murder due to the norms and values of the segregated South. That being said, his murder was brutal, shocking, and despicable. No one deserves to beaten to death simply for the color of their skin.

I hope people are making some connections between the struggle for equality during Reconstruction and the civil rights movement of the 1960s. The goals of Reconstruction will finally be realized during that time.
