This seems to be a significant event when learning about labor unions struggle to overcome the harsh working conditions and the brutal treatment they received for it. That guy looked really old, I would think that unions were more momentous in his school years than they are now. It very strange that he said he didn't hear about it in history classes when he was younger.
Well i think we learned about it now because of our awesome history teacher, and events/ massacres are now more criticized in our history books and historians want us to know more about our pasts.
i think its totally awesome to see video that old! i just think the whole union topic is fascinating. and i didnt think anyone even listened to woody gutherie anymore!!!
I'm a native South Carolinian and I attained my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. I taught fourth grade for two years in the Mississippi Delta and two years at an alternative high school in Western North Carolina. I have been at Tigard High School since the fall of 2003, where I teach U.S. History and Psychology.
