Tonight's reading actually was realy good- I like how the author tied the conflicts with Native Americans back to the Civil War- that the US Army soldiers had just gotten back together and they didn't want to be torn apart over this conflict even though many army men admired Native American culture. Fascination is an understatement- good pick Carlisle!
I'm a native South Carolinian and I attained my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. I taught fourth grade for two years in the Mississippi Delta and two years at an alternative high school in Western North Carolina. I have been at Tigard High School since the fall of 2003, where I teach U.S. History and Psychology.

I loved it! We've never covered this perspective in the past, and it's a total shame; this is interesting stuff.
