THE FUTURE IS NOW?

Would you support this kind of commercial activity?

This seems like a fantastic revolutionary idea, especially to be in production by 2015, but there are, of course, innumerable issues. In the way of permits, shipping costs, landing sites, simply having too many drones in the air at any given time, also, who flies these drones? Oh my god could you imagine the amount of people shooting them down to steal other's packages?

This is an amazing idea for transportation, but it have way too many risk that made it doesn't look as awesome as it was in the commercial.

That is by far the most RIDICULOUS thing I have ever seen. I am not sure that it is too trustworthy and all together it's just somewhat creepy. These little robot things roaming about in the sky like it's whatevs, I'm just delivering your... (you can decide what goes here). Maybe some new wool knee warmers for Mr. Carlisle. I don't even know what the world as come to, I mean really, can't people just go pick up whatever is that they need at the store. Oh wait, people will probably be too busy eating kentucky fried chicken on the couch while watching Duck Dynasty. Realistically, if you take away the flaws that Kathryn pointed out, I just see a way for people to get even lazier. I will stop drinking my haterade for a second and express the brighter side of this idea. If someone were in need of an uncommon object immediately, this invention could come in handy. However, I would not support this idea! Anyway, I'm going to go eat some Kentucky fried cicken, watch Duck Dynasty and drink some haterade (not really). Adios!

I think this would be really really cool if all the problems would work out. If you say that this just makes people lazier, it wouldn't change anything because people just order things online anyways, it wouldn't change that fact, it would just reduce the amount of time the people have to wait.

This is not something that is not surprising. I think as teenagers we have the mindset where we have to have everything now, now, NOW!!! Gosh dang it, If we want a cat video, we will watch it now, if we want to save 15% on car insurance with geico, we need to do it NOW (if you know what that means). I think that with the further advances in the future, there is no question about the amount of robotic influence/interaction humans will have on a day to day basis. I understand this is a stepping stone, before people start saying that technology will go all terminator, but the greatest lakes must start somewhere. Yes the ocean started with one drop of water, yes? So why not foresee the impeding/imminent threat technology has on society. Heck, it could be directly correlated to social issues and our obese rate in America. I think technology is something that is beneficial to us now, if we use it, but what will stop perhaps the nsa from using this technology to kill the unwanted people, or have a means for unhealthy amount of espionage over its people. This is something to consider before you go trampling over someone on black friday for the new ps4 or samsung tv. Robots are going to take over the world, they just the the right time. Have you seen the creepy robot sign holders nowadays??? That **** is cray. Freaking amazon and its promotions, why does it have to start with such a hipster company...... Oh well. I know i just was ranting, but carlisle can't say anything about my participation and my response because I have a a right to speech. AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is like the epitome of a daily lesson from a teacher. Go off little tangents until the class finally gets to the point.

The idea itself is pretty cool, but I don't think that Amazon's technologically advanced enough to successfully pull something like this off. Just think of how quickly orders would arrive. The delivery is also rather unrealistic, as the drone is flying through an empty field without any buildings, trees or phone lines

THIS IS SO HYPE. I would buy things just to see a bunch of flying things come to my house and drop off stuff. But seriously I don't see the need for these things as they don't look that fast and probably can't travel that far. If it's in a busy city then I kinda get it, but I think bike couriers are still better. I love that form though.

It seems like an awesome idea to add drones to the delivery system. However, the drones may be expensive and short-circuit from time to time.

Using a drone would be really efficient and less of a hassle to transport things to people but there are so many risk factors! I think the risks definitely outweigh the benefits right now. The drone could also be another way to spy on people.

I completely expected to see everyone say that the idea of delivery drones was scary because of national security reasons, and start listing off the reasons why they didn't like or trust them.

However, I'm really glad that almost everyone else sees how cool it is that we're getting ROBOTS TO DELIVER OUR PACKAGES FOR US! ONLY 10 YEARS AGO THAT IDEA WOULD HAVE BEEN ABSURD! I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL WE GET INTELLIGENT AI FOR THEM AND HAVE LITTLE ROBOTS FOLLOW PEOPLE AROUND. I DREAM OF A FUTURE WHERE THERE'S A CHICKEN IN EVERY POT, A CAR IN EVERY GARAGE, AND A COOL LITTLE ROBOT DUDE IN EVERY HOUSEHOLD.

Just think, we can soon live in a world with no sad, lonely truck drivers! Besides, don't you think the public shared a similar response when delivery trucks started being used? Now we cant live without them. This looks like a neat and effective way to do things, might as well give it a shot.
