MDoub,

Wow, someone apparently forgot how to use punctuation over the summer. My summer is going very well. Just biking, reading, going to movies, and lots of relaxing.

Yes, a/c does indeed rock. Mine is currently on today. Enjoy global warming everybody!

Hey carlisle! I start school in 19 days! Crazzyyy.
I went camping up in wrightwood about 4 days ago, it was really nice. It was raining really hard, and there was thunder and lightning, it reminded me of home!=]
There was this plane crash that happened in March there, and theres a ribbon tied to the tryy where it happened and theres still stuff there. Like there was chapstick form one of the passangers, and there was melted metal from the plane, and one of the small wheels from the plane. It was sad, but really cool to see.

Then i went to the beach. Me, Aleca, her friend Sam, and my cousins are going to go to the beach again for the day tomorrow. Im excited!
Are you going to see The movie Word Trade Center??
I hope you are having a good week!

Nicole,

That plane crash sounds crazy. We've just ended our 5 day heat wave here in Portland. It was really, really hot. It's the most I've run the a/c since I've been here.

Sorry to hear that school starts so soon. Bummer. What's your schedule?

Its okay, im actually kind of excited for school, it will give me something to do. I like school a lot too, im just nervous about the people part of it.
I dont know my schedual yet, because apparently i havent been enrolled yet. My mom was supposed to do that, but she hasnt yet shes been having really bad back problems. But when I find out, Ill let you know!
Yeah its been pretty hot here too, but not nearly as hot as it was the other week.
I went to the beach again yesterday, it was a lot of fun, i got my butt kicked by the waves though. haha
Eww, i tried sushi yesterday. (Grossest thing ever.)
Im debating weather to go to school in Oregon or California after i graduate, its a really hard decision. lol

Hey Carlisle. As you may know, Lollapalooza is taking place this weekend in Chi-town and if you check out this site: http://blueroom.att.com/inc_event_mediaplayer/player.php?id=#vtop
you can catch a live stream of all the bands as they play. Wilco is playing at 6:30 our time on Sunday. I thought you might like to watch becuase I know I will be! Hope your summer is going well!

Shelton,

Great link! Thank you. I will definitely check out Wilco tomorrow night on the Internets.

DSL rocks!

How's your summer going? I'm going backpacking around Mt. Adams next weekend. Can't wait.

My summer has been good, especially after the heat wave ended cause I can spend the whole day outside without getting extremely dehydrated in two seconds. I am kinda bummed though because Bonnie gets to go to biking/hiking/rafting in Sunriver for a week starting tomorrow and I am stuck here in Tigard. Oh well. I am glad you like the link! I am about to watch Nada Surf on the live stream right now. Have fun backpacking!

Why aren't you doing that with Bonnie-san?

Shelton, you should check out Andrew Bird tomorrow afternoon. He performs before Wilco. I think you will like him. His voice and musical skills are amazing!

I thought you might be an Andrew Bird fan. I love his song fake pallindromes and his set was amazing! Not only can he play the violin and the guitar, he is also a very talented whistler. I really enjoyed Wilco too. The new songs that they played sounded spectacular, but Jeff needs to lose the beard. Anyway, hope you enjoyed the show and the reason I am not in sunriver right now with Bonnie is because she went with her boyfriend and his familia.

Hey carlisle! How are you doing?
I got enrolled in school today, I start in exactly a week. Theres an orientation that I have to go to on Thursday too.
Anyways, I found out what classes Im taking. Im going to be taking Sr. Eng, Govt.&Econ, Chemistry, Algebra 2, and a class called On your own.
The class On your own seems like it would be really cool. It teaches how to get an appartment n pay bills, and how to buy a car, and that kinda stuff. Im excited for that.
It kind of sucks that I have to tak eAlgebra 2 though, cause I already took IMP1-3, and its going to be like taking IMP3 all over again.
I was going to take AP Psych. but I didnt, I didnt have room. =[

Shelton,

I caught the last 2 songs of Mr. Bird. He's amazing. He's coming to the Aladdin Theater in PDX this September. I will probably go and check him out. He opened for Nickel Creek several months ago and we were amazed.

Didn't see Wilco perform. My need for BBQ and sweet tea had to satisfied. Sweet tea is a Southern delicacy that's nearly impossible to get out here in the Pacific Northwest. Russell Street BBQ in NE PDX has a great food and tea.

What new songs did Wilco perform? They have a new concert up on their website that you can listen too. It's from July 2, 2006.

What are you doing before you start classes? Do you know your schedule yet?

Nicole,

You are going to do really well. Sorry about the math situation. You know my feelings about that subject.

Sorry you could't fit AP Psych in your schedule.

Good luck!

I can't exactly tell you what new songs Wilco performed because they just played three songs I had never heard and then Tweedy said, "Thanks for letting us play a few new songs." They were good though.

As far as summer goes, my only plans in the near future are going to the bite on Sunday to catch the subways and snow patrol and get some good eats. I also go to saint cupcake and stumptown frequently and will probably head to voodoo doughnuts soon.

My schedule for school consists of tennis on monday and wednesday with psych, the artist experience, understanding music, and a society of college scholars class all on various days. I don't have any classes on friday though, so that is a bonus. I also found out that with the math credit I got at THS I have already met the requirements for a bachelor of science...so that is saving my parents some dough.

I did catch Tweedy's crazy new hobo look thanks to The Onion's Lollapalooza recap. Crazy.

Your schedule sounds quite sweet. Tennis huh? Is there a PE requirement for your major?

No P.E. requirement...I just like tennis. I am glad you enjoyed Tweedy's hobo look.
