I am SOOOOOO HAPPY!!! I operantly contditioned my dog to give me a high five. I'd stick my hand out and hold it there. At first he payed it no attention but once he looked at it I gave him some food. A few trials later he started looking at my hand immediately. The next time he looked at my hand I gave him nothing, eventually he got antsy and moved his front paws so I gave him some food. I held out my hand again but touched his paw this time to speed up the pace of him getting the idea. Eventually he'd stick out his paw like when he shakes, so I gave him some food. I waited a few trials until one time he stuck his paw out for a long time and his arm dropped a little bit and touched my hand. I praised him and gave him a treat. The next few times I did this I told him to give me a high five. At some point he just started touching my hand without his arm getting tired. Now when I tell him to give me a high five he reaches out and taps my hand with his paw. I don't have to move my hand at all or anything! It was really fun.

That McClellan just makes me crazy. The guy had Lee's army in his grasp and KNEW for a FACT Jackson's army wasn't anything to worry about. He practically GAVE the Confederates more troops because he sat back and allowed them to reorganize. Cautious isn't the word for him. I bet deep down he was just a little sissy.

David,

Congrats on your conditioning. You made Pavlov proud!

Matt,

I don't McClellan was a sissy, however, I do think he was an incompetent general.

I was watching a show the other night. i think was dateline adn i think it was on wednesday, but im not. either way thats irrelevant. this security guy was showing how easy it is to break into cars and houses in public, and make it obvious. People all around watched but did nothing. This one lady was talking about by-stander something. She didn't call it the by-stander effect but it was the same idea. It was exactly like what we learned in class, "someone else will call the cops" or just that they didnt want to get involved.

It was interesting. Just thought id let you know.

Wouldn't I have made B.F. Skinner proud instead?

David,

You're right. Skinner would be proud. I didn't read your post closely. I thought you were referring to the classical conditioning game. My bad. Have a great weekend.
