About Me

I'm a native South Carolinian and I attained my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. I taught fourth grade for two years in the Mississippi Delta and two years at an alternative high school in Western North Carolina. I have been at Tigard High School since the fall of 2003, where I teach U.S. History and Psychology.

Interesting. I didn't know that certain social etiquettes were so important back then. Like the story about the boy who called his mom Miss and the sheriff put him in jail just for that. Also, I probably would not be able to vote (even if I was a man) since the odds were incredibly against black people. I'd be surprised if any black people were able to vote at all. The literacy tests looked extremely hard!
