Vermont As expected, Obama is projected to win Vermont. He currently has 60% of the vote and 70,000 votes. 80% of the precincts reporting.
McCain also won with 72% of the vote.
Rhode Island Clinton wins here, she has 59% of the vote.
McCain wins with 65% of the vote.
Ohio CNN has just declared Clinton will win Ohio. She currently has 57% of the vote and 673,000 votes. Obama has 41% and 475,000 votes with 54% of the precincts reporting. The thing that kept the projection from coming earlier was that the large black urban areas like Cleveland hadn't come in yet. They have started to come in and will not give Obama enough votes to carry the state.
McCain won, 59% of the vote.
Texas Texas is still to close to call. With 32% of the precincts reporting, Clinton leads with 50% of the vote and 776,000 votes. Obama trails by only 20,000 votes. The large urban areas like Dallas and Austin are still very early into counting, and they are all leaning heavily towards Obama. We'll have to wait for those places to come in to get a better idea who will win.
McCain wins, 53% of the vote.
McCain now has enough delegates to claim the GOP nomination! He currently has 1,205 delegates, 14 more than he needed to clinch. Shortly after Ohio and Rhode Island were called in McCain's favor, Mike Huckabee announced he is dropping out.
The Democratic race continues and will go on to Wyoming on the 8th, and Mississippi on the 11th. Followed by Pennsylvania on the 22nd of April.
If Clinton cannot win Texas, the pressure on her to drop out will be huge, because Obama will still have a lot of momentum, and now with the GOP nominee officially McCain, the pressure will be doubled. The Superdelegates realize that McCain isn't a good match against Clinton.
Texas is a two-step state. You vote in the afternoon and receive a card that allows you to participate in the caucuses that night. 1/3 of the delegates come from the caucuses, so they will be important. Expect Obama with his grass-roots appeal to do well as he has in nearly every caucus to date.
I won't be there until 7:20-ish. Sorry. You can start it, work on it during lunch, and finish it after school if you need to. That's the best I can do.
If I applied for a job at Wendy's, would they have me watch that video again? I think I'd watch it at least a dozen more times because it's pretty awesome. I didn't get to hear what the last word was... It cut off. I guess I'll never know...
