About Me

I'm a native South Carolinian and I attained my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. I taught fourth grade for two years in the Mississippi Delta and two years at an alternative high school in Western North Carolina. I have been at Tigard High School since the fall of 2003, where I teach U.S. History and Psychology.

Hey, it's me, Chris Black! I took the test, and I got Moderate Automatic Preference for European Americans compared to African Americans. I think it fits me, and even though it was frustrating doing it so quickly, I think it was definitely a new experience for me. Thanks!

Um... I got: a slight automatic preference for African American compared to European American. That is not at all what I thought I would get. I at least thought I would prefer European Americans compared to African Americans...
I guess this may be because of the trip I took to Louisiana- I have a really good perception of the people down there- very hospitable and friendly... Other than for that reason, though I can't think of another reason why I'd prefer them...hmm
Strange- I really didn't expect that kind of a result...
I don't think it's legit for me.

I honestly had no preconceived opinion on what result I would get. I guess I'm slightly surprised because I thought I would be more in the middle of the spectrum.

I got Mod Auto Pref for European Amer. compared to African Amer. I think that's true, but I was expecting to be more of a middle man.
The test was kind of long.

I took the Presidential test on accident. My comp wont open the other.. Haha, I guess me being "blonde" doesn't help with that comment ;)

I'm not sure why you are having difficulty with the IAT. No one else has reported any problems. Remind me today and we can see what happens when you try it from my computer.

Haha, I don't know too much what that means, but I like how I have a preference for Af.Amer more than Euro's..? Although I don't think I am racist against whites, I may have some hidden unconcious thoughts concerning those facts. Maybe I should go to a therapist. Haha, I like white people.. and I like black people. Either is cool with me. I think I got my results because I get confused on what key to press. But, at least I know I am not racist ;)

This dosn't really surprise me as race to me isn't an issue and I feel that I am pretty open minded as far as the topic goes.
Interesting test none the less, the switch up screwed me up quite a bit... hah.

I'm not really too surprised. but at the same time I think that I clicked E a lot more then I because its on the left side of the key board and I'm extremely left handed. I also think that I do lean more towards "european american" but I don't have any problems or anything like that with "african americans"

I don't really know what to make of this, like the validity of it? I wasn't sure what to expect, I come from an extremely diverse family so I think racism is just something I don't deal with really.

I got little to no automatic preference between African American compared to European Americans.
Ithink I went too slow on pressing teh E and I buttons...im gonna try again tonight but if this was the true answer then i guess i was suprised because i thought i would get a moderate automatic preference because i have not encountered many black people in my life before.

It says that I prefer young people rather than older people. I do and i think a lot of that has to do with working in a resturant where i had to serve odl people..so yes i have a slight negativity towards them.
