ALEX,

YOU DID NOT COME BACK TO FINISH YOUR EXAM TODAY. THIS POSES A SERIOUS PROBLEM FOR YOU.

Blogger luangrath said...

Will do. Just be ready for a plethora of CDs tomorrow.

Oh, and I am not doing this because I thought I did bad on the test haha. Purely out of the goodness of my heart...and I like making CDs for people who will accept them.

Mr. Carlisle,

This is random, I know, but I'm curious- what do you think of Measure 60?

I understand that you may wish to refrain from answering and that's okay.

Stephen,

I'm not a big fan. Come by sometime and I would love to discuss the upcoming state and federal elections with you.

My hand is still sore from writing all 4th period! (Of course, jamming my finger 3rd period didn't help either...)

Carlisle--
First of all, if Measure 60 passed, you wouldn't have any need to worry, because your class awesome.
Second, muchos gracias for essay #1!

LUANGRATH--
I would gladly accept CD's from you...just a note.

Victor--
Try coloring over the marks with Expo marker. That works for Sharpie/permanent markers marks on white boards, at least.

Alex,

Thanks for the kind words. Would I have earned your praise if your class hadn't received essay #1???

Ian,

I'm terrified!

Blogger Allie said...

Let me answer that, Carlisle. Unless it was essay #2, which we all knew you weren't going to give us, then no. You would be left a praise devoid shell of your old self.

/mean Allie

I really hope I did well. D:
I felt like I knew the material really well, but the last time I thought I would do well, I did really awful.

Oh no... D:

Allie,

Both classes got essay one. I'm about 8 essays in for your class. Finished second period when I got home. Tired. Just taking an Internet break. They should all be graded by the time class starts tomorrow. Okay, back to work.

I love internet breaks as well Carlisle, in fact I am taking one right now. Good stuff. By the way nice job with the chocolate syrup at the assembly today.

Also you are an amazingly fast test grader and it is much appreciated. It is really nice to get your tests back the next day.

Updated Electoral Map

Changes from yesterday:

Kentucky to Likely GOP (previously Safe GOP)
North Carolina to Lean Dem (previously Toss-up; +15 votes Obama)

(Sorry for the late update on this, but Nate (the guy that co-runs FiveThirtyEight) did a REALLY late update tonight).

As you can see, there is a slight appearance change to the map now. The boxes in Maine and Nebraska represent their 2 and 3 congressional districts, respectively. As some of you may know, Maine and Nebraska award their electoral votes differently than other states.

The winner of the statewide popular vote gets 2 votes (1 for each of the 2 senators each state has) and then gets the winner of each individual congressional district gets an electoral vote.

All 4 of Maine's electoral votes are wrapped up nicely for Obama. But McCain may have some trouble holding on to Nebraska's 2nd congressional district (which, as some of you geography whizzes may notice, contains Omaha) if he doesn't step up his campaigning there. Since Maine and Nebraska amended their constitutions to allow for this different allocation of electoral votes, they've never been split, but 2008 may be the first time we see it happen.

As for the polling changes, a strong day for Obama, as he picks up North Carolina and it's 15 electoral votes. So far it doesn't look like McCain's increasingly negative attacks are working, in fact, they may be having the opposite effect, as Obama is now at the highest point in national polls than he's ever been all year, pushing past 50% for the first time in a few polls.

Updated Electoral Map

Changes from yesterday:

Alaska to Likely GOP (previously Safe GOP)
Kansas to Likely GOP (previously Safe GOP)
North Dakota to Lean GOP (previously Likely GOP)

Not much statewide, just Obama's impressive numbers nationally starting to crack the hardline GOP states slightly.

The debate tonight will certainly be interesting. The economy will likely dominate, which can only hurt McCain.

Will be interesting to see what happens.

Tonight was so weird, I cant believe I actually saw you on your little bike =D

You even had a fancy outfit to go with it! I think your biker buddy thought I was crazy though... he stopped and stared at us. Hope you had a lovely ride!

Aw, I'm so honored =P

Kait, Karen and I were walking over to the First Baptist Church (I'm pretty sure that's the one) to feed homeless teens and young adults. It's a really cool program where they play a movie while everybody eats. And we park by our friend's apartment by the max station. Do you ride over there every day?

8:48 PM

Blogger Mr. Carlisle said...

First of all, I really admire what you are doing for the homeless. Very cool. Second of all, no. We were doing a short ride up in the hills around Council Crest.

But isn't that up to (and around) Pittock Mansion!?! That's so long and all uphill! I would die. Props to you...
