Victor,

I don't have the textbook in front of me so I'm going to say that it really doesn't matter. You are going to read past that page anyway. Check the page numbers for tonight's assignment.

The debate was amazing! They actually answered the questions (mostly), and they both did pretty well. While faltering in some areas, I was surprised by how well both Palin and Biden did in the debate!

I was a little disappointed. I was waiting for the intense debates, and the arguing, But, I liked how it was sort of casual though.

That was SO much more enjoyable than the last one. They answered the questions mostly, didn't take low blows (except for the whole "ultimate bridge to nowhere" ahahahaha), and Palin really redeemed herself. Biden didn't really seem to be into it though until the last third or so. I found it a lot more interesting and easy to focus on, they were just so concise and wrapped up their points so nicely. There wasn't a lot of tangents. However, the did keep coming back to past points even though a new question was posed.

My favorite part of the whole thing:
"Can I call you Joe?"
"Sure"
*she never refers to him as Joe*

I am pleasantly surprised (and perhaps a bit disappointed) that Biden didn't freak out during any of the debate.

Okay, in all seriousness, Biden did an excellent job. He masterfully used his personal experiences to relate to the common man, and he obviously trumped Palin on specifics in terms of plans. I actually enjoyed listening to most of Biden's responses- even if I didn't agree with all of them (believe me, I didn't). He is a much better debater than Obama AND a much better speaker (at least tonight).

I had a hard time sometimes tracking Palin's points because she kept veering off the subject and "backtracking" to other random things which then caused Biden to occasionally backtrack.

Gwen Iffel of PBS did pretty well-keeping herself mainly out of it (unlike some mods) and keeping the debate to the candidates themselves.

Personally, I thought both candidates did at least fairly well and both are ready for the role of vice president. Palin didn't have any huge blunders (she did say "Senator Obiden" though) but she avoided tough questions, tried to be funny or cute, said "maverick", and changed topics too much for my liking. Biden had one or two things I didn't like, but I thought he did a very good job overall. This definitely was a much better debate than the first.

I pulled a Benjamin Lincoln a couple of times during the debate.

indeed this debate was much more interesting than the last! but none the less many factors still disappointed me. Biden didn't exactly champion the cause of gay marriage ( he seemed to be on a par with palin). neither candidate even mentioned the influx of illegal immigrants ( evidently they weren't willing to take a real stand for fear losing hispanic voters). other than that however it was quite good.

HA! Pulling a Benjamin Lincoln. Hilarious. Best comment of the night. Reveal yourself!! I want to give credit where credit is due.

I thought the debate was way better than last week's debate. Both candidates did an admirable job. That is all from your nonpartisan teacher. Can't wait for Friday! Woot!

Updated Electoral Map

Changes from yesterday:

Arizona to Safe GOP (previously Likely GOP)
Kentucky to Safe GOP (previously Likely GOP)
Montana to Likely GOP (previously Lean GOP)
North Dakota to Lean GOP (previously Likely GOP)
Nevada to Toss-up (previously Lean Dem; -5 votes Obama)
South Carolina to Safe GOP (previously Likely GOP)
Virginia to Likely Dem (previously Lean Dem)
West Virginia to Likely GOP (previously Lean GOP)

Overall a slow day, only significant thing is that Obama has lost Nevada back to Toss-up status, though he still holds a commanding electoral lead.

This debate was much better than the first one. The first one was just so boring. Both showed that they can handle vice president for the most part. Palin did decent and so did Biden. Did anyone get on tv carlisle??

Man oh man, Palin did much better than I thought she would. Thatta girl. As for Biden, you could tell he was mad like whenever he smiled. Overall, I was disappointed. I wanted there to be yelling and I wanted it to get mildly out of control. Oh well, that's why I watch Top Model.

Some of Palin's comments scared me, but overall not bad. I thought she was a little to informal using words such as won'tcha and for ya and go get 'em. I feel much more comfortable with Biden if one of them ever had to take the role of President. Senator "Obiden" is a very well-spoken man. I was very impressed. His "Bridge to Nowhere" comment was absolutely hilarious. Overall, good debate.

No, he always votes for that one independent guy that always ruins elections. What was that guy's name? Ralph something, I think.

"I believe the phrase is: Drill, baby, drill!"

Palin is so amusing to listen to! I actually kind of like her, now. It's cool to see a girl up there [not trying to be biased), and she really does bring a fresh, new appeal that I'm sure many people will fall for. Not Biden's biggest fan, though. Kind of creeps me out a bit. He seems to know his stuff, though. I'd like to see another VP debate again...there should be more than one!
