hm...that shooter test was interesting! I found that I relied more on how the person was holding their arms as opposed to their race...if they seemed to be hiding something in their hand, then I was more likely to "shoot" them, but if they weren't standing in a threatening manner, I did just fine! I did notice how none of the people were women though...I thought that was interesting...

IAT-Race: My suggests that I have a moderate automatic preference for European American compared to African American. I slightly agree. Of course I'm not racist but I never grew up knowing many African Americans so I can see why my data would suggest that.

Your data suggest a strong automatic preference for European American compared to African American.
I don't believe my results have truth to them. If I had to rate myself I would say slightly, maybe moderately have a preference for whites not strong. The first part of the test also skewed my results since it got me so used to one way of doing things that it was hard to break that habit. Lastly I believe how the media portrays blacks and how our culture portrays them has influenced how I feel about blacks in general. Its not an instinctive "hatred" for lack of a better word for the most part.

My data for the race IAT suggested I have little to no automatic preference between European American and African American. My shooter test score was 540, so I guess that is good.

I'm kinda suprised at my result because I love black people and i have no problem getting along w/ them. I was always surrouned by blacks during my childhood years. hm, personally, i think that test is wack. some ppl can't muli-task.

The results posted that I was slighly geered toward "european americans" as opposed to "african americans". the first thing that came to my mind was, ok, well, the computer is telling me this information so i cant be completely true, and another question was, in what way am i geered toward european americans? then i did some self reflection, and i came to the conclusion that i guess in some parts it can be true. I would a date a white woman as opposed to most black women. but thats personal opinion. I guess this is because i've had better experiences with white people. thats not to say that i hate or even dislike black people at all, I just have had better expericences with white people.

I got shot a lot of the time. so i lost a lot. I guess i just feel bad shooting some people. but anyway, It looks like i took a shorter time to shoot a white person than a black person. that to me is kinda strange. I think it took me longer to decide for a white person too. I dont think i was swayed by the fact that they were white or black, it was how they were holding the gun. some of them looked quite scary too. I thought it was also odd that there were no women. anywho, the fact that i got shot so many times is bad. as well as the fact that i thought the buttons were the opposite from what they were until the third time may have swayed some shots.

This test was really interesting. I enjoyed trying to improve my score, and I got angry every time I messed up. I didn't really look at what race the guy was but what was in his hand and if i should shoot or not.

I do not think these tests mean anything. I got really bored. I dont beleive this has any way of showing whether or not someone is racist. I went more by how the person was holding their hands and what position they were standing in rather than their race.

What happen with me is that i was always looking for someone that had a gun and when they didn't have one i woould press / and they would get shoot. i would get confuse with the keys too, i would forget which one is which. The Race IAT test said I have LITTLE to NO automatic preference between African American and European American.
I did do another test: the thin/fat people one and it said I have a STRONG automatic preference for thin people compared to fat people....hahaha!
But I believe these tests have nothing to do w/racial feelings, it's all about hand-eye coordination!

This test is hilarious.
Don't think it has much truth to it. When a person initially appears on the screen, I'm obviously looking for their hand. I think the reaction time depends on the hand placement. The weirder the hand position, the longer reaction time. And sometimes the gun blends into the background, so it takes me longer to determine what it is. It's BOGUS! =)
