Just thought I'd mention that the drums in the background of 4 Little Girls that Bitney mentioned were from the Max Roach album "We Insist: Freedom Now!", which came out in 1960, and the cover has a picture of all the musicians doing a sit in. So it wasn't just Spike Lee being crazy, there was a lot of Civil Rights Movement influenced jazz music.
I'm a native South Carolinian and I attained my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. I taught fourth grade for two years in the Mississippi Delta and two years at an alternative high school in Western North Carolina. I have been at Tigard High School since the fall of 2003, where I teach U.S. History and Psychology.

Thanks for the information Connor. I didn't mean to sound derisive when I said, "Spike Lee". Mr. Lee has a unique approach to filmmaking.
