The End is Now

Well, what a year it's been. 12 unit exams, one Internal Assessment, one Oral History Project, and a whole lot of history. I hope you enjoy your summer break and come back ready to finish out your high school career at THS. I'm up for a matinee of Public Enemies if you guys are. I will post information about that on the blog as the time approaches. Until then, keep it real.

I'm gonna miss your class Carlisle. I'll tell you, I'd rather be there than at boys state right now. I'm sitting trough my third guest speaker in a 2 hour timespan... He's talking about how the house and senate work. If I remember correct, i've already learns this in IB US History... Anyway I'm probably gonna get in trouble if they catch me doing this so I'm gonna start paying attention. I appreciate you listening to my ranting and I'll stop by and visit sometime next year. Thanks for makig history fun. Despite all the reading quizzes and the days I went hungry cuz I couldn't eat...

I'm really going to miss your class. You gave us a lot of interesting things to think about and some awesome pictures and random current events. The killer construction cone thing that's on this post is very awesome haha.
Thank you for keeping it interesting.

Oh did you see the sign that was posted by the stairs today? Very funny.

Sidney,

I feel your pain when it comes to boring guest speakers. Been there and done that. I'm very sorry for my oppression against eating your four course meals during class. Have a great summer.

Nicki,

Thanks for the kind words. See you soon.

2) Birmingham est tres sketch
3) Being called "Senator Luangrath" does not sound as legit as it should

Hey Mr. Carlisle

You mentioned you had emailed those of us that are on your Extended Essay list. I didn't get an email, so I just wanted to make sure I was on the list so I can get the announcements over the summer.

hey so walking through the streets of Eugene today, I saw this guy riding a bike and I swore it was you!!! He had really short denim shorts (I'm not saying to do, I'm just pointing it out) and a plaid shirt on (that's the part that got me) and he was really hardcore, like grunting and stuff. But he rode by and he smelled like mildew and he looked really sketch. Oh, and all that talk about radicals and stuff in your class, there's a lot of them here. Kinda cool to see them in person. Kinda scary too though...

Thanks for the great comments guys. It's really been a pleasure this year, even the school year felt like it lasted 2.34 years. I'm going to miss you guys.

Uh, I don't wear, nor have I ever worn, short denim shorts. I try not to smell like mildew on most days.

Anonymous sidney tan said...

yeah, I'm not saying you do wear denim shorts, I just thought you might want to know. And yeah when he rode by and smelled like that, it gave me the immediate "that's not Carlisle" conclusion.

Oh, on a different note, a kid here has one of those blue tooth things that you wanted. It hardly works but if you want, I can whack him in his sleep and get it for you... I'll even throw in a complimentary snuggie with it.

Hey Carlisle, Your class was great, we miss not having it next year. Boy's States pretty cool although the speakers can get quite boring at times. Although it doesn't compare to your class, your class was alot better.

Oh and i'm in for Public Enemies so just let me know when your thinking.

Well thanks again for being a great teacher, and have a great summer.

Carlisle, your class was off the hook. It definitely was the most I've learned and most fun I've had in a high school class. It'd be good for me to know the date that we go to the movie a couple weeks in advance so I can request it off from work.

Thanks for the great teaching,

carlizzle my man,

I'm gonna miss your class a lot, I looked forward to it everyday. Your enthusiasm for the transcontinental railroad truly inspired me. Thanks for making history class fun and challenging at the same time. Gonna miss you next year (except for the reading quizzes). I'll make sure to stop by and say hey next year. Oh and you're gonna write me a letter of rec right?

I'm really going to miss your class, Carlisle. It's sad that I won't have you as a teacher again. History was a lot of fun with you (except for the railroads) and I really enjoyed it all. You made most of the history really relatable to us today. (Which is hard for teenagers) I'm really looking forward to working on my EE with you. (I say that now...)

Public Enemies looks sick! I want to go see it so bad! I think it would be a lot of fun to have a history reunion. Let me know!

Thanks for all of the good times!

Max,

Mos def. We can do something in July. Just get the peeps together and email me. I can do almost any day of the week. I'm thinking Blueplate followed by video games. There's also really delicious food carts downtown for super cheap.

I like cheap.

Im going to miss your class so much Carlisle! Having your class fourth period really helped me through this year. I really love histroy, and you taught us so much. Thank you for an awesome year!

I am really looking forward to having you as my EE advisor too!

I really want to go see public enemies! Even though I wont be 17 until next march. . . I am determined to see it!

I miss psychology =( Only class I showed up to when I had a terrible cold at some point in the spring and it was the day we watched that video on crazy internet kidz and you weren't there. Not to mention probably the most practical and entertaining class at THS.

This blog shows up every time I open a new tab on IE as one of my "most viewed pages" so post something when you're going to Public Enemies / Blue Plate and I'll definatly be there =)

10:14 PM

Blogger Mr. Carlisle said...

Thanks Alex. Just check the blog for an announcement on the movie. I'm thinking middle of the month.

Probably won't do Blueplate. Too many people and the restaurant is small, however, I'm totally down for the excellent lunch carts that are downtown.
