The reason why you're out of school today

Watch and reflect.

‎"It may be true that the law cannot make a man love me, but it can keep him from lynching me, and I think that's
pretty important."

Refection: The people in the line didn't look very happy...why is there a random music interruption in the middle?
Different note:listen to his full speech while doing stuff, its about 18 min.

It's pretty terrible to see that MLK's dream hasn't come fully true yet. Yet pretty amazing to see how much of it we've accomplished. A day in every year well dedicated to a man beyond his day. Personally I'm glad to be an American, sure terrible things happen all the time, but we still have a beautiful history of overcoming and getting past it and creating a more stronger and glorious nation. I really do hope the youth of the 21st century grow up fast to carry America. Thanks for reminding us about why we have school off Dr. Carlisle!

He was such an amazing speaker and although his dream is still in progress I hope one day he will wake up to find it in reality.....
I did not mean that literally because obviously he is dead....

What an inspirational speech. I agree with EJ, and think that it's time for America to step up and make some changes.

I wish for Dr. King Jr's dream more than anything. It is sad to think that America has not fully accomplished his dream yet. I too wait for the day where "no one is judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character". MLK was such and amazing speaker and I hope that some people take a moment to reflect on what today is about.

People people PEOPLE!!!! If you actually want Dr. King's dream to come alive, then why not start with yourself and weed out all discrimination within yourself? That's the only way to truly make changes- start with yourself.

I really love this speech. Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the first people that really sparked my interest in history.

This speech has a lot of heart in it. The fact that someone can be hated so much but keep looking toward to the future, thinking there will be light at the end of the passage is inspiring.

Heard it on the radio this morning while driving up to go snowboarding and it was surprisingly the first time my grandpa had heard the entire speech. It was pretty inspiring, I must say.

He was clearly such an amazing speaker. His voice, words, everything, are just so empowering even listening segments of him speak almost 50 years later. I don't know if any of you saw this, but it was cool to see today too http://www.google.com/doodles/dr-martin-luther-king-day-2012-by-faith-ringgold

Margaret, you should run for president. I'd vote for you, even though you'd probably run as a republican.

Go Malcolm X, anyone?

But ultimately...Dr. King's approach was probably the better one because it was more practical.
