Films You Should Watch
Greetings students, I hope prom went well for those of you who went. I can't believe we only have one full month left of school. Crazy.
Below are the trailers for some films you should check out when you have the time.
If you've never heard of Jesse Owens, you should watch the following film about him on OPB this Tuesday night.
Watch Jesse Owens Preview on PBS. See more from American Experience.

It is depressing to think about the bad things people have done to each other. Even now, people are being tortured and killed just because people have different ideals from one another.

I don't think I have the stomach to watch The Schindler's List or The Pianist. It just reminds me of how terrible people can be and what us humans are capable of. It's almost like it was a parallel world. And it's also weird and alarming to think how all this happened not so long ago.

I really want to see both of these movies sometime in my life. I think the last week of school should be a history movie marathon.

I've seen the pianist and it was so long and really good, but it definitely takes the life out of you. I want to watch the Schindler's list, but I don't know if I could make it through. I loved watching Band of Brothers today in class by the way!

Shows the "difference" between the Jewish and German citizens and not so head pounding depressing. I am unaware if it is real or based off a true story.

Spencer,
We won't have any time for those movies at the end of the semester, however, I wish we did.
Rachel,
Wait until you see The Pacific.

I just wonder why people do that. Why did Hitler hate Jews? It couldn't have just been pure political motivation, could it?

@Harrison:
Have your heard of...racism?

I haven't seen Schindler's List yet but I have the seen The Pianist. The Pianist not only has a beautiful soundtrack and marvelous acting, it also hurts you. It hurts you because it makes you think of the Holocaust as more than some horrible event that happened long before you were born. It makes the Holocaust feel real and personal because you're seeing, translated onto screen, what happened to a real person.
