Please take a moment to reflect on the importance of today. Also, President Obama's second inauguration begins at noon today. He was sworn in yesterday per the 20th Amendment at noon by Chief Justice John Roberts.

I'm a native South Carolinian and I attained my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. I taught fourth grade for two years in the Mississippi Delta and two years at an alternative high school in Western North Carolina. I have been at Tigard High School since the fall of 2003, where I teach U.S. History and Psychology.

This speech is very powerful. It's crazy to see how much Martin Luther King Jr impacted society through his speeches and actions.

This was a very powerful and moving speech. One of the best parts though was at 1:12. he says "We shall overcome because Carlisle is right". I think Carlisle is trying to use subliminal messaging to get us to do what he wants.

Thank you for sharing this! Martin Luther King Jr really does deserve this day and I hope people actually think about how important he is and recognize how many people he has truly affected.

What a great speech with memorable lines. The meaning of MLK day can often be overlooked because some only value it for a day off of school.
