Results of the Locus of Control Test 58

Your locus of control appears to be in the mid-range between internal and external orientation. In general, you probably feel that while you can very well control and influence many aspects of your life, there are things that just happen to you and that are outside of your personal control.

Well i thought this was interesting. i find this right on the money about me.

Hey so my score was 73 leaning more on the internal side. "People with internal LC, on the other hand, interpret outcomes as results of one's own actions. They tend to take responsibility as well as credit for the results of their actions."
This test seems pretty accurate for me because I believe strongly in deciding your own fate. People seem to always use the fate excuse for not accomplishing what they want in life, but it is up to the person to get what they want. Your own destiny is what you decide.

I don't totally really under stand the scoring.

I think That right on. and i agree with what they said on the "whats your score mean"
I'm a person that will take responsibility for my actions and am willing to take that risk for success.

I agree with this because I don't think that the environment controls my actions, but at the same time I think I take responsibilty for my actions if they are good or bad. Maybe not all the time when it is bad though, it all just depends on what happened.

General Locus of Control

Your score = 73
Your locus of control appears to be in the mid-range between internal and external orientation. In general, you probably feel that while you can very well control and influence many aspects of your life, there are things that just happen to you and that are outside of your personal control. People with more external LC tend to believe that their actions are results of environmental, external forces. As a consequence, an external LC might lead to a rather fatalistic and passive attitude toward life. Perceived lack of control over one's life might lower motivation, initiative and willingness to take risks. Under such circumstances, chance of success can be diminished. People with internal LC, on the other hand, interpret outcomes as results of one's own actions. They tend to take responsibility as well as credit for the results of their actions.

You seem to be balancing between the two. It is important to understand and accept one's own limits. It is equally important not to give up without doing one's best. Even though equilibrium is good in general, try to shift your locus of control further toward the internal side.

I think that it is shifted to the internal side, at least the graph looked like it. I don't really beleive in luck or fate but I think situations and circumstances can effect outcomes as much as internal things can in some cases.

Is this saying it's preferable to have a locus of control that's internal, or that I'm off balance?

SO i think mine was pretty good i do believe that a lot of the things in your life are up to you and how hard you work to achieve you goals although somethings you can't really change. I love all of these tests their so much fun.

I had a 48... really close to the middle. I believe that one can control thier own destiny, but sometimes there are circumstances that keep them from either wanting them or seeing a reason to do something. My sister, for example, could care less if she graduated. Is she capable? sure! she just doens't want to do it!

Most of your scores are pretty similar. I respect that you all seem to believe that YOU are responsible for your actions, etc.

However I do hope y'all recognize that there are situational (external) factors that can affect the trajectory of your life. Don't commit the fundamental attribution error!

I think for the most part my results were pretty accurate because i take a lot of responsibility for what happnes in my life. But i also think that external factors can play a huge role in how we live our lives. Good test, showed me more about myself.

I think these results are pretty accurate for my self. I believe that we have the ability to choose our actions, and must accept the responsibility with the outcome!

What does your score mean?

Your locus of control appears to be rather internal. People with an internal LC interpret outcomes as the result of one's own actions, and tend to accept responsibility as well as credit for their actions. In general, this attitude generates high motivation, effort, perseverance, and willingness to take risk.

It goes without saying that success is more likely with all these qualities present. It's important to understand and accept one's own limits. It's equally important not to give up without doing one's best. Your locus of control is on the right side.

I agree with the outcome of this quiz. I am the type of person who likes to get things done and perfectly. When I can't get them perfect, though, I tend to give up and loose motivation. I never try to reach my fullest potential because in a way it seems like I can't beat the system so I don't feel like my efforts will make a difference. So I move on. I belive at times I can do anything, but then I get discouraged and am not so sure anymore. It more a of a changing attitude towards things that alters how I perform things in life and how well I do.

My score was a 73, more Internal. I take responsibility for my actions.

I would have to agree with it. If i were to have taken this test a while ago I think it might've been different. But my dad has kind of changed my perspective on that, explaining how with responsibility comes freedom and taking responsibility for my actions shows maturity. And so on and so forth..

I got a 53. For the most part I agree with that, some of the questions were confusing but yeah. I think we do need to take responsibility for our actions but also remember that things happen and they can be out of our control. Good survey I like them!

I got 73, and it makes sense because I believe you choose how and where you go in life. The environment does affect how you live but I believe a person decides their own destiny.

In general, you probably feel that while you can very well control and influence many aspects of your life, there are things that just happen to you and that are outside of your personal control.

that pretty much sums it up. I do think there are some things that are intended to happen-and happen for a reason, but I also think..by our outlook, we choose how it will effect us and what we will learn from it.
