I was seething with annoyance.

it's better than seething in a vehement manner at least. it might possibly progress to that later in the year though. those announcements were almost as cool as the assembly.. >:[

at least the lady was apologetic to some extent.

Alex,

You are quite correct. You here by have the title of blog super-user. Enjoy.

Carlisle, were the reading quizzes graded for real? Like, counted as a grade? Just wondering since it was our first one or whatever, I just was thinking about our first reading quiz in psych and how it wasn't counted. Have a good weekend.

They counted and they're on eSIS. I will give them back to you guys on Monday.

The Carlise poser posted a message on his blog! Did you see that?

The assembly this year was a snooze fest. And I hate picture day. D:

Passing out titles are we? I see how it is.

Haley,

Where do I sign?

Allie Moss?? What do you wish to be called? Picture day is the worst. I hope to get it changed in the future.

Hi this is Amy Phou, now I thought I posted a comment yesterday but I guess I didn't? Dang I hated picture day, made me miss notes and everything. Also the assembly honestly why why...

I think the theatre arts department should do a weekly round up of announcements in a catchy, dramatic way...to be telecast to the common area and cafeteria on a large screen television at LUNCH TIME. Their challenge would be to make it worth watching. I guess you could involve the Sports Marketing class on this project as well. And for the record, my first, worst, mistake as a THS parent was to sign up for the emailed announcements. I had to change internet providers to get rid of the duplicate and triplicate copies of the announcements. Now, back to your regularly scheduled homework commentary. Carlisle, I can't find an ESIS account with my name on it...where do I track my participation points? What do I win?

.... :)

Karen,

Some staff members tried televised announcements a couple of years ago and then they stopped after the remodel of the school. I wish I could simply flip a switch to stop the announcements.

I guess you could have all your students wear their IPOD headphones and administer a READING QUIZ during that time frame....

Mr Carlisle, can I get a seat in the front row when you assign seats? I feel like I don't pay attn. as well if I'm put in the back (in any class). Plus I don't like staring at the back of people's heads.

Thanks

Narintohn,

Mos def! I always ask students who wants to sit up front. No worries.

Blogger luangrath said...

Thank you!

Plus I ask for Turzillo to sit next to me so I can absorb his intelligence.

Just kidding.

Oh, and go listen to some John Vanderslice. I saw him open for Vampire Weekend last night.
'Twas a quality show indeed.

Carlisle, I was reading the comments about seating arrangements and that got me wondering about group projects. Do you assign groups or let us choose them? Because I have a few people in my class I work really well with and would generally prefer to work with them. Of course, if I can't it's not a big deal. It's always nice to meet new kids and create amazing history projects with them as well.

Blogger Mr. Carlisle said...

Joseph,

Sometimes I will let y'all pick your groups while other times it's strictly random grouping (i.e., everyone counts off).

ciao

Sweet, when do I get to be knighted as blog super-user? Just don't use that flamy sword thing on your pictures, my shoulders are a bit sunburnt.

I'm down with the boycotting of announcements. I have yet to meet someone who has said "you know what would make school even better? More announcements!"

was the reading 73-79 cuz it's all about the brain and "baby theresa" not really "what is psychology"

CAT!

Those pages were part of the homework. You also need to complete the teacher questions/reading guide I gave you on Thursday. The information needed to complete that sheet is in the front of your textbook. I believe there's page numbers on the TQ. That will address the five approaches to Psych and "what is Psych."

AAAAHAHAHA NO MORE OF YOUR READING QUIZZES FOR MEEEEE.

Weber doesn't seem as enthusiastic as you. I'm not yet COMPLETELY pumped up for history this year.

And since you have rejected my offer as a TA, Caro has accepted me.

Yes, I'm completely procrastinating on Caro's psyche reading. Peace out, Carlisle.

8:44 PM

Blogger Mr. Carlisle said...

Bernath,

Sorry about the TA thing.

Weber rules! He's just trying to get the dead weight out of the class. He also gives reading quizzes so you're not out of the woods yet.

READ!
