History of Note

100 years ago today, an event took place that unfortunately led to this. I would love to read your comments. Thanks.

I find the Titanic fascinating. Especially the mechanical failures that happened. Apparently the water tight compartments at the bottom of the boat were leaky. Also the rivets holding the boat were weak which made the boat break more than it would have if it had used quality rivets. The reason why they didn't use good rivets was because their hydraulic tools couldn't fit in the bottom of the boat.

As for the video I thought it was really corny. I didn't make it through the whole thing.

I liked the movie quite a lot, not because of DiCaprio, but because I'm a sucker for a love story. And James Cameron films. I'm not a fan of Celine Dion though. As for the Titanic itself, i spent all of yesterday going, "and at this time 100 years ago, the Titanic is 2 hours away from hitting the ice berg...". I don't know what it is about it, but this tragedy has really stuck with me.

I love Titantic for both Leo and the love story. I am also really interested in Titanic itself. I wanted to learn more about the people on the ship and their stories, and if the story in the movie was based on someone's story from tr ship.

I love the titanic!! i didn't see it till about two years ago with one of my friends, but ever since then I've loved it. Me and my friend danced around at the dance scene just like they did in the movie! There is a huge mysterious wonder about the ship and the people that i will always hold, this ship just helped spark that interest.

I found it all dull, scenic, but dull. A popular example of full company failure...where the workers, the mangment ect. failed to well do all the requirement of the job. Greed, arrogance and other factors in this situation are always worth looking at so as to avoid them in the future.

Everytime I think of the Titanic tragedy I just get so angry that so many innocent people's lives were taken away because of something as little as not putting enough rescue boats on the ship. It all comes down to the matter of pride. The reason the ship was going so ridiculously fast was because the captain and owner wanted to show off to the world how fast The Titanic really was. The other thing is the reason that there werent enough rescue boats aboard the ship was because the owner thought the presence of all the boats would lessen the indestructible appearance of the ship. So the whole disaster could have been prevented if the owner had set his ego aside and thought of the people's safety first rather than how awesome he looked in the eyes of the press. Grrrrr it makes me so angry. PS i ALWAYS full on sob the last 30 minutes of the movie...I can't help it!
