Haley,

Is that all you care about? Grades?!? What about historical knowledge? What about the War Hawks? The War of 1812? Tecumseh?

No.

I learned about that kinda thing in psychology. Something about conditioning kids to care about grades, or the actual learning itself...

Caring about learning produced better grades than caring just about grades. The kids that were conditioned to care about grades eventually lost motivation. While learning in itself produces the good grades and this group of children was much better.

I am almost completely conditioned for grades... I caught my parents at the table tonight talking to my brother about school, and they didn't ask about what he learned they asked about his grades...

Blehhh

Haley,

I hope you know I was kidding in my response to you about a reading quiz today.

Kyle,

I feel you on the grades tip. It really discourages me to think that some parents only care about grades in lieu of content knowledge. I think it's why some students prefer to avoid IB classes because they fear the hit to their GPAs.

I was actually going to drop all my IB classes for my junior year but I wanted to keep IB history because it's my favorite core-subject and I wanted to learn more than I could in regular U.S., even though I knew it would be hard. In most other classes (MATH) all I really care about is the grade but not for history.

I promise I am not being a suck-up.

so im confused... did we or did we not have a reading quiz and was it 10 points or 20??

and to carlizle... yes that is all i care about! but this time i do care... so... what about those warhawks? and the war of 1812? what is that? and what is a tecumseh? is it sometype of chainsaw? lawnmower perhaps??

well see you tomorrow in class and if the reading quiz was about a tecumseh im set cuz i mow the lawn everyweek.

Haley,

No reading quiz today. Get the notes from an amigo in class. We discussed those things in class today.

Nicole,

I didn't think you were sucking up. I can genuinely tell you like history. I wish we had weighted grades and plus/minus at THS. I think that would keep a lot more kids in IB.

With over 100 years in the small engine business, Tecumseh is the big company no one has heard about. Since the 1960's Tecumseh has been the leading private label manufacture of small engines and has grown to be the second largest manufacturer of small engines in North America. In the northern United States and Canada consumers know Tecumseh as the brand for powerful and reliable snow blower engines and depend on us for starting in even the most extreme conditions.

No way! You beat me to it!

Tecumseh Products Company is a manufacturer of gasoline engines, hermetic compressors for air conditioning and refrigeration products, and power train components for lawn and garden applications, industrial pumps, and small electric motors.

Tecumseh products are sold in over 120 countries.

The Tecumseh corporate office is located in Tecumseh, Michigan

History is one of the few classes I really want, thats why I switched into it from regular... I'm soo burnt out on so many levels for so many subjects. History is chill though.

Here's a fun history quiz for you to post on your myspace bulletins...http://www.funtrivia.com/trivia-quiz/World/The-Curse-of-Tecumseh-229388.html.

I bet the curse of Tecumseh is going to be on the reading quiz. This is a warning to anyone who wants to get smart with a person who ALMOST got their minor in native american history and stuff...

Just skip first period and sleep, then you can be ready for history 2rd/3rd, cause that is the only class that matters.
