- Location: Portland, Oregon, United States
I'm a native South Carolinian and I attained my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. I taught fourth grade for two years in the Mississippi Delta and two years at an alternative high school in Western North Carolina. I have been at Tigard High School since the fall of 2003, where I teach U.S. History and Psychology.

So, isn't the statue trying to beat the size of Mt. Rushmore? It looks small in the picture.

haha. I thought the white statue was it and I was like "wow way to make the Native Indians' honorary statue puny". But then I realized they were carving it in the background.
We should so go on a field trip! That'd be cool. We could swing by Yellowstone along the way and pet some wolves.

That's going to be really cool when it's finished. The picture with the fire is awesome. When was Mt. Rushmore created? The Native Americans were probably really mad.

I went and looked at the picture of the rock in 1987 and then again in 1998. That's trippy stuff...
I couldn't really find anything about what's going on with the monument right now. Are they adding more to it?
