You would post this.

I'm just hoping that Andrew Bird's new album sounds as good as this. Am I right or am I right?

'Sheed has some seriously sweet moves as well.

Narintohn,

Andrew Bird's new album doesn't even come close to this. Are you going to the concert at the Roseland?

/me just got back from going to the store

Yeah, apparently when my mom and uncle went to the store the other day to prepare for the storm, they didn't buy enough food. So I had to go and buy some before the roads froze over and made it impossible to go out :/

Snow is easily 5-6" deep here. Hasn't stopped all day, really. According to my mom, the only time it was worse than this was when she moved here in 1990, which also happened to be the last time there was actually snow on Christmas.

The amount of snow is comical, actually. I was gone for 45 minutes total, and by the time I got off the bus and started walking home, my footprints from when I left were almost completely covered up.

Whoa you're ahead of the game. If they sell out before I buy them I am going to be sad.

Will you be in the "mosh pit" like a cool person or will you be up in the balcony like an old person?

Blogger Mr. Carlisle said...

This is the worst winter weather I've ever experienced. Of course coming from SC that doesn't mean very much.

Narintohn,

Balcony. Sitting down is where it's at!

thats, a very...nice video. :)

I just measured some snow outside my house, and with all of the snow drift and such it ranges from
5-12+ inches of snow. Its probobly the most snow ive ever seen while living in Oregon.

9:54 PM

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Thanks Carlisle! Hope you enjoy your break.

On a snow note, when I lived in Pennsylvania we received 18 inches in 14 hours. On top of that, I later found out that it was their DRY season. To this day, I cannot believe it.

But I have 10.5 inches at my house. Its dank. I'm enjoying the snow and so is my dog. I plan on snowboarding through the neighborhood tomorrow.

As for the person asking if its illegal to ski on a public street, it shouldn't be. Its a safe way of transportation. If it is illegal, sledding should be too, because the people going down hills into busy streets are DUMB!

Be careful out there!

Enjoy.

Carlisle!
First off--Merry Christmas!
Secondly--even though Andrew Bird isn't exactly mosh music, I think you should venture off the balcony and hang with the punks by the stage! Your height would be an advantage to catching guitar picks and drum sticks.

I agree with the wise Hillbilly.

Plus there's probably going to mainly people in their mid-20's early 30's- it's not going to be like, a Jonas Bros crowd.

You've seen him before right?

12:40 AM

Blogger Mr. Carlisle said...

Andrew Bird music is definitely not mosh pit music. The balcony is where it's at! Plus only 21 or over can ascend to its heights.

Just kidding, it's cool. Well I'll be taking pictures so if you want them I'll email them.

Yeah, 'Fake Palindromes' is a good one. But I think if I heard him sing 'Spare-Ohs' live I would melt. Or my current favorite, 'Oh No'- that one's really fun to listen to.

This is nothing, in Pennsylvania the snow covers front doors and kids still have to go to school.

Ah, no wonder I get such good grades!

Guess what, Carlisle? Me and my dad are pulling out our snowmobiles and taking them out up in the field right above our house. Woo! We don't even have to drive an hour and a half to use them!

I ventured outside and It is pretty cool. The ice is fun to break..
but some of the branches off of our Douglas Fir trees are breaking, and they're like 100 feet up so it not good.

happy break! :)

Andrew Bird is not my style, but I like all the instruments that he uses--pretty rad.

NARINTOHN. We need to find a show to go see together! Maybe we can convince the Decemberists to come back just for us? Even though they were here...a couple weeks ago...?

LAUREN. Break the ice and lick off the snow! It's scrumptious.

ALLIE. Snowmobile down the hill to my house and pick me up! :D

I have always wanted to see Arcade Fire live. And Interpol. I have no idea when either of those bands are coming here though.

Who have you always wanted to see?

Narintohn,

Do you know anything about the opening act?

well, I officially hate ice. Me and my mom were shoveling our sidewalk and we heard a crack and then saw a small blue flash. Then there was a huge blue flash that people saw all the way down my street. It turns out that a tree (covered in ice) hit a power line on cook park hill, the tree caught on fire a little bit, but luckily the ice and snow put it out. There were some people sleding and they were luckily out of the way when it happened and called 911. The fire department came and the wires are still live right now.One was still sparking a lot and we could hear them. It was sparking blue and white and yellow...
A few of my brothers friends were on the other side of the hill. They got out through our neighbors yard, and they were okay. The firefighters are still waiting for PGE to come put out the wire.

It was pretty scary, but still epic.

and, Alex - the snow is delicious :)

Arcade Fire and Interpol haven't had any new releases for a year...they probably won't be touring for a bit.

I've always wanted to see Muse, Radiohead, REM, and Interpol. I wouldn't mind seeing Arcade Fire, though. I like a few of their songs.

What's really frustrating is when a band completely skips Portland. Seriously...we're a big city...we should be a main stop!
