I usually find myself standing up during classes (especaily chemistry and biology) to do my work, so I think I would actually prefer standing.
That being said, I would want a chair in case I was tired or otherwise unwilling to stand on any given day.

Standing, mostly. You burn more calories, and it keeps me awake. I could dance around or something if Biology gets boring, again. :]

i prefer standing, but i really like the idea of a swinging foot thing. all day long i like to tap with my foot or tap the desk with my fingers or chew gum really fast and it drives people insane. the swinging thing would help with my need to move when i feel like my brain needs a jump start

I as well like to stand. And I would also like to say that being my height or taller and sitting in those desks all day SUCKS! I think they were made by a man who was very short and wanted to pick on tall kids.
I swear those desks are causing me to have restless legs syndrome.

I would prefer to stand but at the same time have the option to sit down if I would like. I also find myself standing up to do work or projects in a class. But that would be distracting and get annoying to have other people in the classroom constantly fidgeting and moving around the classroom.

It seems like if everyone had an adjustable desk it would be a huge distraction in class. People would constantly stand up and sit down and adjust their desk disrupting the classroom environment. Not to mention it would be really strange to see half the class standing and half the class sitting. The cost of all these desks would also be enormous and the economy just isn't up for it.

the only problem with this is it would suck to be sitting when 10 people in front of you are standing. you cant see the teacher and the board so you would be inclined or forced to stand. but i do like the option of standing, it would be nice!
