Absolutely disgusting! It's so disturbing that some of the jobs listed are recent- no one should have to live in such conditions of desperation that they are forced to take 30 cents an hour for wages. Although everyone talks about China as a nation being very wealthy and powerful, it seems to me like they got to that point through oppression of the lower classes.

I would love to go to the Smithsonian and look at the exhibit. I can't imagine what it must of been like for the people of Jamestown and to have to resort to cannibalism. I have a hard time eating some regular animal meat..crazy. As for the leeches, probably the worst job in the world.

People may say that they would rather die than eat another human being. History tells me to question this.
Have you seen those Chinese who get gold and silver out of computer landfills? The chemicals they are exposed to will cut their lifespan so much they won't have enough time to use the little money they get.
The Chinese have room to grow as far as making sure their prosperity actually reaches most people. It's a little sad that decades of communist rule has led to lots of rich Chinese immigrants buying overpriced housing in Vancouver. Yes, China's poorest people are much better off thanks to Deng Xiaoping's market reforms than they would have been otherwise, but that government of theirs is so corrupt. Maybe if their schools didn't prepare kids for tests every minute and the government didn't let companies blatantly disregard copyright and patents, China would get some more high-paying jobs instead of tedious "don't scratch the iPhone!" type jobs.
