Feed the Needy

Just wanted to get the word out about an event happening this Friday, December 21 during both lunches. The event in question is freerice.com, which is a website that allows you to donate rice through the United Nation food program. This doesn't cost you a penny and it improves your vocabulary. The student who amasses the most donations on Friday is eligible for the following prizes:

1. Dinner for two at the California Pizza Kitchen.
2. 2 LBS. of Starbucks coffee
3. $20 gift certificate from Tony J's Pizza.

This contest is being run by newspaper (mostly Amy Beck and I) it’s a very simple way to give back and its actually fun. So I hope you do come... I know it’s during lunch but its time well spent doing a great thing for others.

Thanks for plugging it Mr. Carlisle I’ll see you there right? haha

I wish teachers were eligible for the prizes. If so, I would do my part.

Hmm... I think my donations have been counting for nothing, because the ads on the site pay for the rice, and I have an ad-blocker installed >_>

UGH I can't get past level 44. Anyone else notice the same words popping up...tee hee...like a freebie! Unless you get the same word wrong twice. Of course we all know history is about NOT repeating mistakes.

Ask Haley the vocab lesson of the evening.
