HISTORY STUDENTS!!

I hope you've enjoyed your long weekend. My sources have told me that you've kept librarians across the metro area rather busy this weekend. Good work! I have just a few reminders for tomorrow:

1. BRING IN YOUR COMPLETED, WELL THOUGHT OUT, RESPONSES FOR THE FEDERALIST #10.

2. BRING YOUR SAMPLE IA FOR A DISCUSSION ON YOUR PLAN OF INVESTIGATION.

Now, here's a little Duane to brighten your rainy Sunday. Enjoy.

Thursday, October 21, 2010

HISTORY STUDENTS--IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!

Please bring your sample IA to class on Monday as I will address the Plan of Investigation (Part A) on the IA. The reading assignment for Monday is now due on Tuesday. I want to give your more time to complete your working bibliography and Federalist #10. Please take your time with Federalist #10. Make sure your responses are thoughtful and a paragraph in length. Feel free to type your responses if you want to.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me or post a question on the blog. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Creating a Bibliography

History students:

Please use the following link if you would like help creating your bibliography. Your list of sources will done in the MLA style. If you have any questions, please let me know. However, the link is really extensive and makes this process really, really easy. Enjoy.

History students--IA update

I will collect your working bibliography at the beginning of class on Monday. Please make sure your central question is at the top of your bibliography along with your name and number. Tell me if your sources are primary (P) or secondary (S). Remember, you must have at least TWO PRIMARY SOURCES in your final draft in December. Part A, your Plan of Investigation, is due on November 19. That is your final due date for the IA until Friday, December 17. I would urge as many people as possible to turn in their IA early in order to earn either 20 points or 10 points extra credit.

Please email me if you have questions:

History students--Hints for Essay #1

Students,

In order to do well on Essay #1, make sure you address events that took place after the Tea Act and Coercive Acts. Why did Parliament pass the Tea Act? What did it do? How did the colonists respond to that tax? How did Britain respond? (see the question)

Hope this helps. Enjoy your three day weekend.
